The only scenario that makes sense surrounds his hips. He has had bad hips and uses a cane sometimes. The rumors here(in MN) are that he was taking Percocet for the bad hip and that may be one conclusion.

That said, those who know him best know he's been under the weather since the beginning of April and thus it may have been an untreated flu bug or something else.

Since he was JW, he apparently was opposed to certain medical procedures.
