JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Thursday that transgender people should be able to use whichever bathroom they choose, voicing opposition to part of a far-reaching North Carolina law that critics says is discriminatory.

Speaking at a town hall event on NBC's "Today" Thursday, Trump was asked about North Carolina's so-called "bathroom law," which, among other things, requires transgender people to use bathrooms corresponding to the gender on their birth certificate in state government buildings as well as public schools and universities.

Trump said the law had caused unnecessary strife for the state, which he said had paid "a big price" economically.

"There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate," said Trump. "There has been so little trouble."

It is, then, a states issue..In addition, a candidate cannot afford to alienate himself further from the opposition. You must create a happy medium in order to become elected.

transgender people if they have the right parts let them use the one they want. I have bigger issues than this.

"I like a president with priorities who doesn’t want laws for everything."

Liberals always believe the answer to every problem involves the government.

"Gotta be more than a real estate savant to be a good, let alone great, president."

A 'real estate savant' doesn't have four bankruptcies and numerous other loan defaults under his belt.

"This bathroom controversy is contrived gotcha."

The question was contrived. The answer was the gotcha. Trump is what he is. You get what you got.

And it doesn’t bother you in the least that Trump has caved in to the politically correct LGBTQ bullies, does it?

If Trump changed his slogan to “Make America Straight Again”, he’d win in a landslide. Instead, he panders to the few and ticks off the many.

“I like a president with prioritie”

Mr Trump, when your luscious and sumptuously endowed wife uses the nongendered ladies room in the ground floor of Trump Towers it’s ok if I don a dressie and wiggie and follow her in?

HeHeHe!

I saw a news clip yesterday and I don’t remember which state it was, think a southern state, and a very large/overweight person who is a girl, says she is a boy and was dressed in boy clothes, who went to court to be able to go to boy’s bathrooms in school, and she/he won. Person looked to be high school age.

If I had children, they would be in Catholic private school. I think boys and girls in Catholic schools would not be subjected to this.

Trump is the typical Rino. Campaign to the right until you get the.nomination, and then go left. Trump is OK with this country going down the sewer.

Not that bill of goods. Ain’t buying it. My goal is voting to block the nomination of Trump, and an inconclusive first ballot—for starters. First things first. Nobody here will be voting for Hillary. And she’s not big enough of a Boogey Man to force me to vote for Big Mouth. I’d go Constitutional Party if it ever came to that. Their feelings would represent me far more than RINO.

Trump could have simply said people have the right to be whatever they want but they should be realistic of the facts.

What happened to the non-PC Trump who would have pointed out the obvious?

BSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ANYONE who has ever done any foreign travel knows there are UNISEX bathrooms in the very best places, particularly across Europe.
This ENTIRE CRAP has been cooked up and should be ignored. We should not have to have a law for everything in the universe! It is far past time we should apply a little common sense instead of rabid dog reaction to ridiculous situations.

So now you think we should mimic socialist Europe? Too bad that Trump doesn’t have the balls to stand up to the pro-pervert bullies.

Most Americans realize any solution to this will be at taxpayer expense.

That pretty much does away with DTs argument against the North Carolina law where he argued it ended up costing the state money.

How much is it going to cost businesses and state governments to build XX/XY restrooms?

North Carolina was right. Best to head it off now.
