Joan Laurer, the ground breaking female wrestler known as Chyna, has died.
Police in Redondo Beach, California confirm that Laurer, 46, was found dead in her apartment on Wednesday. Police say they were notified by a friend who went to check on her and found Laurer unresponsive. The cause of death is under investigation, but police say there are no signs of foul play.

Suicide, likely. From what I read, she actually got her life together and taught ESL.

Rarely do these wrestlers die of old age in their sleep.
Either that or she compromised her health during the years with steroids and it finally took its toll.

That would be my guess.
They suspected overdose when she was found, but no drugs were found in the home.
Steroids or not, you can damage your heart if you build up more muscle mass than it can support for a lot of years.

Damn, Damn, Damn, I grew up watching these guys, a couple years ago Macho Man died, now Chyna, what a shame, RIP.
I used to babysit her when she was a toddler and her two older siblings. Was my first babysitting stint. They insisted on watching the Wizard of Oz and got freaked out over the crystal ball scene.
The mom used to play cello professionally. They moved shortly over to the east side of town.
On the other hand, Sylvester Stallone's mother Jackie is 94 and still well involved with women's professional wrestling.
