I am wondering if some version of this technology could be used in high radiation environments. If it could, it would be useful for satellites by protecting them against solar flares. Maybe even robots to service and repair the inside of a nuke power plant.

The extreme radiation kills electronic semiconductors. During the Chernobyl disaster, Russia’s robots they tried to use to get video from inside the plant all died within a few minutes. They actually had to us a TOY truck ran by wired remote, no electronics, just a DC motor and some batteries, to get inside the building with a camera. ..................
