Women Really, Really Dislike Trump: Take Note, Republicans
National Review ^ | April 18, 2016 | Abby McCloskey

...

Trump recently tweeted, “Nobody has more respect for women than Donald Trump!” This is hard to believe. More than 3 million people have seen the anti-Trump ad in which women repeat real quotes about women from Donald Trump, such as “bimbo” and “fat pig.” Trump described Megyn Kelly as having “blood coming out of her wherever” and mocked Carly Fiorina’s appearance by saying, “Look at that face.” He tweeted a picture of Melania Trump next to Heidi Cruz, as if potential first ladies are contestants in a Miss Universe pageant. And when asked whether women should be punished in the event that abortion became illegal, he suggested that they should be.

Women aren’t amused. Seven out of ten women (67 percent) have an unfavorable view of Trump, and only 26 percent view him favorably, according to a national Quinnipiac survey from late March. Other polls have his unfavorability ratings among women even higher, at 74 percent.

Cruz has capitalized on Trump’s missteps by not making similar misogynist gaffes (admittedly, this is a low bar). He also recently hosted an event — “The Celebration of Strong Women” — in Madison, Wis., featuring his wife, his mother, and none other than former competitor Carly Fiorina. “All issues are women’s issues,” said Cruz, in one of his most humanizing events of the campaign.

This is a very encouraging development, but Cruz too has a steep hill to climb with women voters. Three in ten women surveyed had a favorable view of Cruz (29 percent) and nearly half had an unfavorable view of him (46 percent), according to the same Quinnipiac survey from late March.

Not that the GOP’s leading candidates do particularly well with male voters.

Cruz's $500,000 friend.

I support Trump, and most of the women I know support him too.

Nobody is saying that Trump's disapprovals among women is 100%. But they are a whole lot worse than 50%.

although no true gentleman would ever speak to or of a lady with the Donald s vocabulary.

Tell me, when was the last time we had a "true gentleman" in the White House, and tell me the last time that it mattered in a presidential election. Was Clinton a gentleman? Is Obamao a gentleman? Are Bob Dole, John McCain, or Mittens, gentlemen? And if any of those last three are, in your opinion, how did that work out for them, and us?

You can sit there holding your breath for your "true gentleman", and you will end up with the most evil, self-serving bitch that ever walked the face of this planet in the White House. Oh, does that remark make me "ungentlemanly"? Ask me if I care. We are way beyond that sort of pastoral crap.

I've been a journalist, both print and broadcast for over 40 years. So don't accuse me of being led around by anyone. Especially you.

His numbers are down among women. If you can't see that open your eyes.

I’m sure you recall when it was the norm around here, including purges of those not so inclined.

There is nothing Trump can do at this point to rehabilitate his image among women. I would not be surprised if 70 -80% of women vote for Hillary.

Women are probably tired of airhead bimbos at NR telling them what to think.

:: When they get to the privacy of voting, a the vast majority of women will vote for the Alpha male ::

This concept was TOTALLY DIS-PROVEN in the general election of 2008 and 2012.

Many, even some on this forum, thought that, once the “ballot-curtain is closed” racial considerations go away. This time around, gender considerations will not disappear behind the curtain.

We must decided on the definition of “gentleman” here.
Were these men deferential to the female portion of our society or were they “gentlemen” (deferential) to the media that followed them around as if they were the only article of their “up-and-coming” storied career as a journalist?

But, if his non-response to the MSM “baiting” him keeps him in the 24-hour news cycle...what’s the down side?

He’s running these journ-o-lists ragged and they have yet to figure out they are being played by the man who wrote “The Art of the Deal”.

>>>>THIS woman loves Donald and every thing he stands for<<<

this woman does too. I think most midwestern/western/ rural women do. because we care about our children’s future, national security, borders, enemy infiltration.
The feminanzis are the enemy, the made up womyn issues.... blah. let Hillary and Bernie espouse that all they want, Trump will bring up Benghazi, IRS, Fast and Furious..... i pray he does.

I agree that a lot of this is based on whichever spin you are inclined to believe.

As far as polls go though, the latest that I can find states 7 of 10 women are against trump. That was a couple of April polls.
You have to be careful with polls though. Unless it shows an actual number of people and what their political leanings are, the information is just up for grabs.....

First off, although I would consider some of those who you mentioned to be gentlemen, that really isn’t the point. None of them were conservatives. The GOP hasn’t run a conservative since 1980, and, certainty no one who could articulate conservative principles. I do not believe that the Donald is that person.

While it is eminently possible that he could win the nomination, without the ability to clearly differentiate the principles that makes conservatism the clearly better policy choice, then Hitlery will clean his clock.

If anyone thinks that the campaign he’s been able to run due to all the free media will continue, they’re deluded. The long knives will come out,and every negative story that has been on page 16 and hasn’t even gotten a mention on the networks will suddenly lead. Every day. Every hour. They will crucify him. A lot of it will be personal, so, yes it does matter.

Always has, always will.

Just to set the record straight, GW was the last gentleman to occupy the office. I didn’t see eye to eye with him on a lot of things, but he was a gentleman, and one of the reasons he won was because he promised to bring decorum back to the office after the Clintoon years. Algore should have won in any normal year, but people were sick of the sleaze emanating from the Oval Office and GW made that a central part of his campaign.

Trump needs a charm offesive to win over women (soccer moms) Needs to show how they will be better off with him in the White House. He needs to get women to speak for him. I suggest a number of “fireside chats” with a focus on policy direct from Trump Tower. Women he would appoint, new goals to help mothers with children-—work with charities like St, Jude Hospitals for Children. Drug rehab for all who need it-—Too many women lose their children to drugs.

This is not good. Women elect presidents these day.
Single women vote mostly Democrat, married women mostly ‘Pubbie.
If Trump alienates the “married women” vote then he loses.
