Who the heck is Ted Cruz? (vanity)
me

Posted on 04/17/2016 5:52:53 PM PDT by Leaning Right

Consider all the Republicans who have won the presidency since Ike. What did they all have in common? The average Joe knew ahead of time who they were! Joe knew who Ike was, he knew who Nixon was, etc.

Sure, the true believers know who Cruz is. But Joe Six-Pack does not. So should Cruz be the GOP nominee, Joe will vote as the media - or his family tradition - tells him to. Cruz will lose in a landslide, just as Goldwater did.

I wonder if Raphael claimed his Canadian citizenship on his filing papers for TX Senate. Are those papers sealed, too?

Likely so.

He’s also very secretive.

Must have “secrets” to hide.

Raphael Edward Cruz is a pretender whose parents renounced any claims as to being American Citizens when they expatriated to Canada, and became subjects of the crown just so they could register as voters there. And of course they did renounce their american citizenship and both register and vote as Canadian citizens there, even before Ted was conceived and born in freakin’ CANADA of Canadian Citizen Parents...
Raphael is clearly neither conservative or “Constitutional” as in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5...

Instead the interloper seeks to undermine it. Not to worry though, trans-Canadian values won’t carry the day here in the USA. Middle America is on to Raphael and over his greasy hair do.

Gingrich recently said Cruz can win the general election and he’s smarter than Goldwater.

Why would people know who he is now? He’s a new face to most of the country. The convention, debates and other appearances for the general election will introduce him to people. Did people know who Sarah Palin was before the convention?

My first vote for President was for Goldwater.

I've never regretted it...in my heart I know he was right!

I voted for Trump in the Texas primary. Warts and all...I trust him!

Trump is a doer; Cruz ia a talker and I no longer trust him.

Don’t pay attention to the polls where it’s Trump vs. Hillary. Meaningless this far out. Pay attention that Trump made a clean sweep of the South and can easily win it vs. Hillary. Trump is also incredible strong in the North where Cruz is very weak. With a Trump candidacy, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are winnable and even New York and New Jersey might swing to Trump. In the North, Cruz wins Indiana, that’s about it.

I'm a lifelong conservative since Goldwater.

Trump is who he says he is. Cruz is who he says he isn't!

I was a supporter of Cruz when he ran for the senate and the beginning of the presidential race. I gave him $$$. I don't trust him anymore...voted for Trump

Cruz is a man who set his sites on the WH while in college (or maybe even before) and who has groomed his resume to the point where he now feels entitled, but another guy came along and rained on his parade, so instead of regrouping for a 2020 run, he has opted to flail about and give this election away to teach the People a lesson....

That’s exactly what the Cruzader is doing and he’s serving his establishment masters well. He sold out FAST but the Cruzlims don’t care due to their raging TDS.

I don't know about his filing papers for the senate but remember
he claims he didn't know about his Canadian Citizenship until
sometime after he was sworn in as senator. The Dallas Morning
News broke the story on 18 August 2013.

I’ve have never seen any confirmation that Eleanor Cruz renouced her US citizenship
while in Canada. Rafael became a Canadian Citizen and it wasn’t until sometime in 2005
that he became a US citizen. They were married in 1969 and Edward was born in Dec. 1970.

A composite of the Cruz family history but far from complete.

If you haven’t seen this it is a long article with some good
history of the Cruz family but still far from being complete.

People know Donald Trump and apparently don’t like him very much either, if his unfavorables are any indication. So are you suggesting they go Kasich because people think he’s a nice guy?

Actually, niceness is not part of my argument. I'm talking about name recognition here. As I mentioned elsewhere, because of media bias a Republican candidate needs an extra edge. The average Joe knows who Trump is, but he does not know Cruz. So to that guy, Cruz will be whoever the media paints him to be. That was Goldwater's problem as well.

That is very unfair, because, in a way, it puts celebrity above ability. But that's just the way I see it. Cruz is Goldwater, Part II.
