They might want to check with Eddie from “Barbershop” before they put Rosa Parks on it.

Retrospective judgments are difficult because we were not there, in the moment in time, and use our modern moral lens to view things critically. FWIW.

Oh yeah? How about Anna Schwartz, Milton Friedman's co-author on the seminal A Monetary History of the United States, 18671960 and -- according to even Paul Krugman no less -- one of the world's greatest monetary scholars.

$20 today has the same buying power as $1.86 when I was born in 1947.
By the time I graduated from high school in 1965, it would take $2.65 to buy what takes $20 today.
By 2030, all transactions will be measured in the newly issued, gold backed Chinese Yuan.

I've not problem with Jackass Jackson, the first Democrat President, being taken off the currency. Not personal, he seemed like a nice guy. Whisky and BBQ at his campaign rallies. Personal scandals, the petticoat scandals, he's a Democrat, the first President, the Democrat patriarch, who cares about women. Indians, he gave them Oklahoma. Had he had foresight, he'd have kept casino rights. Bubba would have. He was close to Wall Street. He survived an assassination attempt and whacked the guy with his cane. He knew first hand that blacklivesmatter, someone has to do the work Americans won't do. Insurrection in South Carolina, he shut them down at less cost than Lincoln.
I'd probably have voted for JQ Adams, but I'd rather have a drink with Jackson.
