I am sure that will be all over the news if Trump becomes the nominee.

The guy made his fortune on borrowed money.

**************

Jim we all make our living, accumulate our legacy/fortune using whatever assets we can
get our hands on. Borrowed money is not illegal but how most of major industry operates.
The cost of borrowing is just another expense like labor, raw material, insurance, profit,
etc. Do you own any stocks, have retirement invested in other income producers, etc then
you are operating or expecting results from money being used by others. It’s not illegal
but rather how most of free enterprise operates. Some are more successful than others at
mastering the system.

Take care.

And that’s really big money? How much have the Koch brothers spread around? How about Soros? How about Gates or any other big billionaire donor of either party?

How many millions in donations has the Trump campaign received from big donors? PACS?

How many millions in donations has the Cruz campaign received from big donors? PACS?

That’s not the point. Of course, most of us borrow money.

But trumpers are all over Ted Cruz for borrowing from his own funds at Goldman Sachs as if that were some sort of mortal sin.

I did the same thing. I borrowed from my credit union as it is an easy loan to get because they have your money.

It’s the hypocrisy involved.

I could care less that Trump borrowed money from the banks, private pension funds, public pension funds, insurance companies or who ever else he did. But to say he is not connected to the big banks is a flat out lie.

To say that Cruz is beholden to the banks and that Trump is not is utter and total BS. If some thing happens like when he was a billion in the hole and he has to refinance again like he did before how is that not beholden to the banks?

It is public record that he had to borrow a billion before or his real estate holding would totally collapse. That is beholden to the banks if I ever seen it.

So please stop stating flat out lies about him not being beholden to the banks. Show me someone who is not a insider who could not get the concessions from the banks or the politicians that he has with out being connected.

The best patriot?

Politician is only a dirty word when politicians are dirty.

Ted Cruz kept his promises to Texans when he went to the Senate. He didn’t join the good ole boys club. Trump criticized him for that, complaining that he should have tried to ‘get along.’

Trump deals in hyperbole, in grand promises and people love that.

The problem is that there is nothing in Trump’s history that would lead one to believe that Trump is anything more than a wheeler dealer who will do what benefits Trump.

The difference is Trump is an investor working in the private sector helping grow the economy, providing jobs. Cruz is a politician working in the government sector, using tax payer funds. I have no problem with Cruz borrowing money where he can find a loaner but Cruz isn’t using his loan to provide jobs per se to the working publci

What does it matter how much anyone received from pacs? Getting money from a pac does not make you a insider it just means you line up with their viewpoint.

But the saying goes the borrower is the servant of the lender. If trump owes money he is the servant of some lender.

The point is, Trump is the front runner on his own talent. He didn’t need big bucks from anyone to get there. Just sheer guts and raw talent and ability to get his message out. And the people from all walks of life are loving it.

I agree I am just pointing out that because Cruz borrowed money from a bank does not make him any more beholden than it does Trump. It is a non issue when people use it to say Cruz is more beholden than Trump because of money Cruz has borrowed.

Um no not really. He had connection from his dad and a large amount of money to start with. He goes over it in one of his books I believe.

I wish I had his connections when I was a kid.

You were replying to a post that I posted in reply to post 50. In that post the poster posted this:

“He’s not a pawn of the banking system like Clinton or Cruz. He is not indebted to the system.”.

I think this is where we started talking past each other. All my post have been keyed back to this post.

No Trump did accomplish a lot in his life. Never said he didnt. He just had a better start than you or I did I am sure.

As for Trump I would vote for him but he is not my first choice. He still has just not sold me 100%. And as of late I have been turned off more by some off his supporters attacking me because I disagree with them. Not attacking any thing I posted bug personally attacking me. I mentioned one above when I was call a imbecile because I use poor grammar. Pretty much told to go away.

That is why I posted about the personal attacks in the above posts. I see it as more detrimental to our side than a benefit. I believe it is leading to a bitterness that will keep the losing primary side home during the election and cost us the presidency.

He wasn’t my first choice either, but he’s quickly becoming the only choice in this primary ELECTION because we’re quickly running out of options for anyone else actually WINNING it via the voters. Barring a miracle, Cruz will be mathematically eliminated on Tuesday just like all the others. Trump will be the last outsider running who has a shot at getting to the magic number. If it is left to party machinations at the convention, we will end up with a party insider. And that is a guarantee.
