“Both Le Pen and Trump are truculent, indulge in bad taste jokes, discard political correctness, play on racist and sexist themes or innuendoes. Both can be rude towards sick or physically challenged people:....”

Well, no bias here....

Exactly right. But the same people have no objection to our condescending Marxist leader.

LaPenn seems to have a better ground game than Trump did, Trump needs to get his crap together and hire the best people when it comes to winning delegates other wise he is gonna end up shooting himself in the foot.

In the 2002 election, the only time he stood on center stage, he garnered only 18% of the vote against 82% for Chirac.

That was in the run-off.

In the first round Chirac got 19.88%, and LePen took 16.86%, edging out Socialist Lionel Jospin with 16.18% and qualifying for the run-off.

Multiparty politics are very different from the two party American system. Beating out Jospin and the other candidates was quite an achievement, whatever one thinks of LePen.

Really, Trump is not Le Pen or KKK or Hitler. Trump is the Anti-You-Name-It. He fights against corrupt government, corrupt media, and corrupt party insiders. He is simply anti-establishment. The Tea party candidates promised several things, like a wall, and a budget, and better treaties. But after winning majorities in the House and the Senate, it became clear that many people who claimed to be non-partisan (in the press) or conservative (in the party) where neither. So as Trump unmasked the people who were supposed to be running the “fourth estate” or a fair election, he became more and more popular as the deception became clearer.

Trump is for honest government, honest media, and honest treaties. And its clear that we don’t have that now.

The establishment is treating Trump that way.

The French equivalent was willing to lose regional elections just to keep any Le Pen out. They were more concerned about not having FN in office than they were representing their constituents.

In the case of Trump, everything is being thrown at him in a bid to have an attack stick. He is seen by the establishment (and leftists) as “he is bad and must be destroyed”.

Trump is for trump. If he can’t be honest honest about losing delegates due to inaction/incompetence he can’t be honest about anything.

You are right. Trump is just Trump. But the effect that he is having, is really the same as if he were the conservative white knight. We know that he is just Trump. He has not changed. He is not a Nazi, and he is not altruistic. He is not smarter than everyone else. In fact he knows little about government. WHO CARES. His stubborn old man personality makes him hard to work with. And all the right people are hating him because they can’t work with him. Its like sending a ferret down the rabbit hole. Ferrets aren’t great creatures. But if they can flush the rabbits who are eating your garden. Its worth having a ferret for a little while.
