I have liberal friends in the Peoples Republic of Maryland. They are terrified of a theocracy under Cruz (I can’t dissuade them of such opinions). Some of them are giving Trump serious thought, however, because they despise Hillary. I have siblings and their spouses (North Carolina) who voted for Obama. For them, Trump is far easier to vote for than Cruz, since they are unhappy with Democrat politics of late.
Cruz will get crushed, not only by Democrat votes, but by those PO’ed Republicans who won’t appreciate a bait and switch candidate. A brokered convention candidate loses, it is simple as that.
I have to be honest. I haven’t met one liberal, and there are many that I still have contacts with in the city, who has even remotely considered voting for trump.
