A fellow I once worked with told me about the hyperinflation in Hungary after World War II. He said his aunt went to the store with a wheelbarrow of cash. A thief punched her out, dumped the cash on the ground, and stole the wheelbarrow!
I could absolutely believe that. Right now we’re doing the same thing at a slower pace; that is feeding the $15 minimum wage argument (the de-valued dollars buy less, but the government can’t admit that because they would have to increase payment to Social Security recipients and such).
