'We Should Protect All Life': Cruz's Consistent Pro-Life Stance Contrasts 'Bizarre' Trump Fits
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/4/2016 | Timothy P. Carney

MADISON, WISCONSIN—Calling Donald Trump's recent oscillations on abortion "bizarre," Ted Cruz laid out his own view on abortion in a Fox News town hall the day before Wisconsin's primary.

Over the past week, Donald Trump has oscillated between advocating "punishments" for mothers seeking abortions, and saying abortion should be kept legal. Cruz knocked Trump's "bizarre" statements. "It showed that he has not considered seriously this issue."

A self-described pro-choice moderate voter asked Cruz if his presidency would lead to outlawing abortion. "We should protect all life," Cruz said, arguing for the issue to be settled through the democratic process, as opposed to the current situation where federal courts have taken abortion largely out of the hands of elected legislators.

Roe v. Wade is not settled law, Cruz told Fox News' Megyn Kelly, but is a "classic case of judicial activism." Undoing Roe would return abortion to elected legislators and the state. In that case, Cruz said Monday, pro-lifers would need to persuade the country to join them in passing laws to protect the unborn.

As President, Cruz said, he would reinstitute the Mexico City agreement, which curbs U.S. foreign aide to overseas groups aborting babies or counseling abortion.

Fox News host Megyn Kelly asked Cruz on abortion in the case of rape, where most Americans are at odds with the pro-life position. After touting his prosecution of rapists, Cruz said, "as horrible as that crime is, I don't believe it's the child's fault."

Of Trump's call for punishing mothers seeking abortions, Cruz said: "These comments are the comments of a liberal who is saying what he thinks conservatives want to hear."

Guys like him think they are smarter than everyone else.

He cheated with that hoouer. Freaking obvious.

“But Trump is evolving like a good businessman does...Every hour or so.”

There are a great number of VERY successful businesses that do not make constant changes and many, many businesses that hurt themselves by trying to change an established brand. Your comment makes no sense, to me at least, unless you are talking about low capitalized start up techs, small business service start-ups and/or “new” internet businesses without their own core competencies and selling ether ware. Trump has established a tremendously successful business of brick and mortar (and turf) that has seen ups and downs, but that has been remarkably steady, with enormous success in the branding and building of a many tentacled international business with exotic locations, real estate acumen and the maintenance of physical assets. Stamina and mental toughness with a will to succeed in that kind of environment is rare these days.

Cruz has said he ahs always been faithful to his wife. Most Constitutional experts and the courts who have ruled on the issue, agree that Cruz is eligible.

Bizarre is getting a million dollar loan from Goldman Sachs that just so happens to not be timely reported. It just so happens his wife words for GS. It just so happens he votes for TPA/TPP. It just so happens his wife endorses the CFR plan for NAU.

Bizarre is anyone falling for his duplicity.

Well, if that is what you believe then by all means vote your conscience. Stop spreading lies and innuendo, but vote your conscience.

Probably if they show them off on the same day. He and Amanda spewed it off on the same day. When he appeared without a jacket and the interviewer teased him about it. And she appeared wearing the missing jacket. And pointed out he was “in a fun mood today” at 5:20 am.

By the way, anybody seen Heidi lately?

Judge Pelligrini relied on law review articles, not law and Supreme Court precedent. The Pennsylvania S.C. denied without comment an appeal. It’s on the way to the U.S. S.C. They’re not going to rely on law review articles.

You are really reaching over temporary tattoos that office employees sported on April Fools day.

Also, the “Daddy Cruz” moniker was started when Cruz came out in defense of his daughters being ridiculed by the Washington Post cartoon.

You need to check your dirty mind. It seems to be getting away from you.

> Cruz has said he ahs always been faithful to his wife.

That’s news. All he did was rant about Trump’s henchmen.

Your attitude is what has enabled Obama. Very typical of Republicans, go along get along don’t upset the apple cart.

I for the life of me do not understand why I get sucked into the Cruz/Trumps threads. I stay away for days at a time then get weak and click one only to read the same tired shiite. It is just tiring reading the dribble from rinos and dim cross-overs who vote based on National Enquirer. Just like Obama phone people. Jeez, I am going back to non-Trump/Cruz threads (but then some honor student brings it up in a total out of context moment there too).

It has been previewed in the town hall with Megyn Kelly tonight. He was quoted, “I have always been faithful to my wife.”
