A man shot live streaming himself in a selfie video remains in critical condition after being shot multiple times in the streets of Chicago’s South Side neighborhood. The horrific video, which police discovered during standard online searches of known gang member social media sites, shows a man talking into a camera before being gunned down. The video, which continued to record, shows the gunman standing over the camera. A total of sixteen shots were fired in the video.

A Chicago police spokesman said the person in the video is in critical condition. If so, the altercation could be the reason and has some significance.

“We are confident (it) isn’t a hoax,” Anthony Guglielmi, the police spokesman, said in a brief statement emailed Friday afternoon.
Guglielmi said the 31-year-old victim was in critical condition in hospital. He added the man was known to police and that detectives were waiting to speak with him. Investigators were exploring whether the man videoing himself was targeted in retaliation for previous violence, he said. The gunman fled and no suspect is in custody.

I can’t make ‘witty’ comments about this video...it is horrific. The boy shooting had no fear, just a complete desire to take human life. And to hear (I assume was the victim’s mother) was incredibly sad. What she and a lot of folks in that environment must deal with on a daily basis must be unbearable. I pray he survives and I pray that mother finds strength and peace. It is a travesty what is happening in Chicago and THIS is the true destruction of the black community. I wish there was a ‘principal joe clark’ to put these thugs on stage and expel them from the community. There are good people living there. ALL politicians should be ashamed. God bless.

The shooter unloads that many rounds from dang-near contact range and doesn't kill his target? Must've been jerking the trigger like it was his pecker.
Wait a sec, this gives me an idea. Hey law makers...this is why I need "high capacity" magazines. In a life and death situation, when the adrenaline is pumping, fine motor skills go out the window. This is why I may need a lot of rounds to put down a home invader or two.

obviously a fake video. a shooting like that is not possible with their strict gun control laws.
interestingly at the bottom of the article, the AP says the victim just for out of jail for murder. 4 years for a murder.

I agree...If it not fake, the only thing I can think of is the guy dropped the phone and ran like h*ll...The guy couldn’t hit him with many of those 16 rounds...

According to the Chicago Sun Times, the victim pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges stemming from a 2005 shooting, and spent nearly four years in jail. Neighborhood residents, who know the man, said he had moved away from the city and had only been back a few days or less when he was shot while live-streaming.

Yeah. You can see a lot of these ‘cellphone owner gets shot in real time and drops phone’ on Liveleak. Usually Al-Nusra or FSA militiamen and the camera never shows the denouement. Then again, there’s more firefights in Chicago than Aleppo. (:^D)
