This is gonna hit everybody.
Skilled workers in offices are already saying “if someone with no skills at all is getting 15, why am I just getting 30?”
and they have a great point.
that’s why minimum wage laws are so STUPID!

This will pretty much finish off upstate NY. The first nail in the coffin was the outright banning of Fracking.
And the way the economy is going in NYS, “upstate” is becoming the Bronx, Pelham border.

When the people start getting nicer you are in upstate New York.
When the people are rude and pushy you are in NYC.
To: nickcarraway
For many people living in Greenwich Village, upstate is anything above 14th Street.

I don’t see why there would be any question about Westchester - clearly not upstate. Long Island isn’t, either.

I’m from Buffalo so...
Upstate NY is anything north of I-90, and east of I-81.
(See how I did that, Albany?)

Norman Mailer's plan was to make New York City the 51st state, so that would make Yonkers and all the rest "upstate." What would happen to Long Island, though, wasn't clear.
Well, he did do what he could to keep violence off the streets and in the home, where it belongs.
