FRANK SINATRA-MY WAY-LIVE 1971
Sinatra was a great singer and entertainer, miss him and others from that era.
Paul Anka wrote that song. Said he offered it to Sinatra because he did not want to wake up with a horse’s head in his bed.
I do it my way...way better than him or Elvis...
Sinatra never cared much for the song - thought it was too vainglorious - even for him. But he knew it would be a huge hit, and that he'd be a fool not to record it. Once "New York, New York" came along, he adopted that as his theme song and show closer and dropped "My Way".
The wife and I loved that song too, one of his best.
I believe the movie Sinatra stood out in for me was him playing Magio in From Here To Eternity. Many great actors in it and he and Borgnine’s (as the psycho) were great.
“”Got to see him perform live, had to.””
SUPER! Never had the pleasure - came close but didn’t make it.... No entertainment like this since these guys departed the scene....Would love to go back to those years!
Saw him near the end, just happened to be where I was, none of my friends wanted to go,Shirley MacLaine was with him,she was a goof, but he put on a hell of a show.
Best song ever! Will play when I get home thanks for posting.
Geez Anka was joking on stage when he said that.
