It used to happen only when a president died or someone of equal importance. I understand about wanting to show respect and that these deaths are tragic to loved ones, BUT....
To me it shows a weakness, like we can't tolerate tragedy or don't realize that it is, in reality, a part of life. To use a phrase of Rush's, it is part of the wussification of America and is, ultimately, demoralizing. I guess as I grow more cynical with age, I see it as a ploy of the left.
