i can see robots cooking, serving, ordering, etc., but i cannot see robots cleaning tables, mopping floors, etc..
They could contract those duties out to be performed after business hours. You don't have to pay contractors minimum wage, FICA, workers comp, etc. etc.
Really? Cleaning tables and mopping would seem to be much easier for robots to accomplish than cooking. Whatever the case, I’m all for this. The SEIU has turned these fry cookers and burger flippers into some sort of a glorified civil rights activists group. And I’m incensed about all the stories of these morons refusing to serve police officers because of their inane views on the world.
There will be a maintenance worker who will reset and load the machines. They will also maintain the appearance of the store. There will probably be a shift manager and one other person to help customers with orders. Kind of like the person at self checkout.
If it can flip a burger it can wipe a table. And we already have robot vacuum cleaners in American homes, the jump to mopping won’t be too tough.
The Jetsons would disagree.
Eliminate dine in option. Either drive thru or walk up. Here in Seattle we have a burger chain (Dick’s) that has no indoor seating, and Domino’s has a lot of Pizza Storefronts that do not offer dine in. This lowers the cost of the footprint for the store as well.
