In 5 years the U.S. military sidearm-of-choice will be the high-capacity pink feather-duster...
I have a S&W M&P with both 9mm and 40 S&W upper slide assemblies. If I were to get a .357 SIG barrel for the .40 slide, I’d be able to fire all 3 calibers from the same frame.
I did that because I put a custom match trigger in the frame so the trigger pull stays constant.
18 inch torso, 18 inch brisket ..... agree on wild game comment.
DITTO!
I sold my 21 and 30, replacing them with a Springfield XD .45. I don’t have large hands and the XD fits much better. The large frame Glock SF series are noticeably smaller, enough so that I now have a 20SF. Overall, though, I still prefer the XD or Smith M&P .45s, due to the grip size. However, I’ll never sell my 17 and 19 Glocks.
Are you a good witch, or a Hillary Clinton?
Hope you don’t get a knock from the Secret Service. We don’t need confirmation that Hillary’s a witch that bad.
My Sig,P220 R Platinum Elite 45acp is as good a 45acp as is made
Agree on the caliber. Would you want a 1911 style cock and lock? Those never suited me.
The only Glock I currently have is a 19.
Oh sure, the XD is a fine pistol, but sometimes you get excessive wear where the bladder horn interfaces with the dowel rod linkage causing premature erection of the feed caster. ;o)
“Girls can’t shoot a .45 correctly.”
Don’t let my wife hear you say that. She does better than just fine with a 1911.

You know why they switched, right.
Cuz im a wo-man, w o m a n....
Libs would not let it have a gun shape. It would look more like a brick.
Thanks. I was aware of that. My point is that there is not a complete, across the board ban on HP ammo. Many people are not aware that snipers use HP ammo. I read somewhere that MPs in Garrison use it also.
There was a time when adherence to the convention was enforced by summary execution of any enemy captured with expanding bullets. We might want to comply even if we have not signed.
I just happy to see, we have at least one, non-wussey general.
.45 slug, big and slow and makes the bad guy target go oooof!
I have been out a while but I work around them. I remember they had a shortage on 9mm a few years ago and at the time I saw commercially packaged S&B, Fiochi, Winchester, etc, being issued to soldiers. I think that issue has been resolved now. Here is a link to TFB that talks about SAAMI specs 9mm vs. NATO specs 9mm.
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2009/05/03/9mm-nato-vs-9mm-luger/
“The ammo industry uses something called SAAMI Standards to establish the pressures that ammo should be loaded to. The SAAMI pressure for 9mm Luger ammo is around 35,000 PSI, and C.I.P (think European SAAMI) rates 9mm Luger ammo at 34,080 PSI. According to documentation, the 9mm NATO rounds are pressured at 36,500 PSI (again according to CIP). That means that when compared to standard 9mm ammo, the 9mm NATO ammo is running a higher pressure, analogous to a 9mm +P load, which SAAMI rates around 36,000 PSI.”
The people we have had conflicts with since 1945 are not big on abiding by any conventions themselves.
