Why would a sexual assault require a search? Why not just an arrest?

Then they didn’t arrest him for the sexual assault.....

Was he forbidden from having a weapon as per a felony conviction?

Not defending this clowns morality. I always figured he was hopped up.

Just that the blatant statement that they found a gun along with substance, makes it look like firearms are illegal to own... In Nevada it is far less restrictive than my home state.

The sexual assault investigation is ongoing. The search warrant was executed after probable cause based on victim’s statements. During the search (with warrant) meth was found...illegal drugs and firearms constitute a felony... Think man.

My guess is that it was an evidentiary search warrant looking for specific evidence they had probable cause to believe would be in the house.

It could be that, or it could be that Nevada has laws that prohibit possession of firearms if you are also in possession of certain drugs, like methamphetamine. Just a guess.
