When I was in high school in the 60s the most beloved teacher in school was W.C. Hickman. He taught the higher math classes and was retired as football coach.
When he was a young man he belonged to the Klan. We loved to get him off subject and tell stories about those days. Some really good tales. Most of them BTW, had nothing to do with race.
