Lol! I remember hearing about a live performance by opera singer Beverly Sills where when she opened her mouth to belt out a big note she inhaled a moth.

Yeah, Pavarotti mentioned that, too, especially on outdoor concerts.

Yes, we sure were a more polite society. I remember entering my library profession in the 1970’s and seeing older books on etiquette, manners, etc.

They say things come full circle. Observing our culture today makes me think we may be at the end of the filth era and ready for civility.

Thanks for sharing.

Have you seen the viral YouTube video of the reporter when a bug flies into his mouth? It needs a heavy duty language warning, but it’s hilarious. It would pop up if you typed, reporter goes ghetto.

“IMPLIED??? What are you smoking? There was no implication. Or have you not listened to the voicemails that were sent to Every Single Caucus Location?”

There you go again. Do you tell Goebbels style lies so much that you start to believe them yourself?

You are actually claiming they used the words “drop out” rather than the Cruz camp implying that. And you claim to have heard it with your own ears. Stop lying or show the link.

Here is the link the only two audio files I am aware of:

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/02/04/ted-cruz-voicemails-ben-carson-exclusive-audio/

Keep in mind, these are NOT to the public. They are to campaign staff. It is about breaking news. This was NOT something anyone expected. They used the phrase “leave of absence from the campaign trail” and “suspending campaigning” probably preceded by the word “temporarily” but that word is garbled, so we do not know. This was INTERNAL communication.

The actual words of CNN were “take a break from campaigning” and “he is going to go back to his home” and “he’s not going to go to South Carolina... he’s not going to go to New Hampshire”.

http://www.allenbwest.com/2016/02/ben-carson-accuses-ted-cruz-of-foul-play-in-iowa-this-happens-immediately/

Chris Moody at CNN tweeted: “Carson won’t go to NH/SC, but instead will head home to Florida for some R&R. He’ll be in DC Thursday for the National Prayer Breakfast.” This happened about 15 minutes before the caucusing began.

CNN absolutely misreported this. It was picked up by other news media:

http://www.businessinsider.com/ben-carson-campaign-suspension-iowa-2016-2

Note the time stamp on the above article. It was right in the middle of the Iowa caucus. And look at the text of the link “ben-carson-campaign-suspension”. CNN started this and it snowballed.

CNN said Carson would NOT go to NH or SC. Those were the next stops. Those were the next debates. He did go. Anyone seeing the news feed, the news caption, and the tweet from CNN would rightly wonder if Carson was about to drop out. Why otherwise would a candidate tell the news media they will not be at the next two debates.

But at no time did the Cruz campaign describe his actions as “dropping out” or “withdrawing”. You claim that this was more than inferred. You challenged me for using the word “inferred”. And then you switch your claim to pretend that the word “suspend” is the same thing. You gloss over it as if it is a trivial and insignificant difference. The Cruz campaign did not say Carson dropped out or was withdrawing from the race.

The fact is that the Carson campaign originally admitted that what happened was due to an erroneous media report. Then they changed their story to fit the meme of Cruz lying to explain away his win there. Nonsense. If you are running a competitive race for president and a competitor tells the media they are skipping the next two debates to take a break, that is a big deal that you have an obligation to pass along to those supporting you. But, yes, coming from the Communist News Network, they should have double-checked directly with the Carson campaign, notwithstanding the fact this news happened precisely when the caucus was starting.

Now explain to me how you are impartial and honest about Cruz but give Trump a pass for comparing Carson to a child molester:

“He said that he’s ‘pathological’ and that he’s got, basically, pathological disease...I don’t want a person that’s got pathological disease.”

“If you’re pathological—there’s no cure for that, folks. There’s no cure for that,” Trump said. “If you’re a child molester—a sick puppy—a child molester, there’s no cure for that. There’s only one cure, we don’t want to talk about that cure. That’s the ultimate cure. Well, there’s death, and there’s the other thing.”

Trump’s defense when called on this: “I just quoted his [i.e. Carson’s] book.”

So you think Cruz repeating what CNN said to his campaign staff is horrible, but Trump is the example of morality? You need to hold yourself and your candidate to the same standards you try to apply to me and my preferred candidate.

And, by the way, my support of Cruz does NOT mean I hate Trump or am trying to discredit him. I expect to be voting for Trump in November. I prefer Cruz. And a Trump-Cruz ticket would be good for me. My main reason for defending Cruz is that he stood up to GOPe like tea party conservatives have been trying to make happen for years, and now every johnny-come-lately who doesn’t know any of the history of how he did so, is ready to throw him under the bus in favor of a lifelong liberal who only recently saw the light. I still prefer the lifelong conservative who did what he promised at great personal cost.

Obviously you are only a fantasy writer but not a reader.

You posted the exact link I posted to you so you can reassess your claim that the Cruz campaign ever used the words “dropping out” or “withdrawing” from the race.

So you need to listen to the audio at your own link. What you claim exists is false, which means either you are mistaken about what you thought your ears heard, or you are liar, which is particularly egregious since “lying” is the unjustified, slanderous accusation you are hurling around here.

You also conveniently ignored my detailed answer AND my point about how you and those like you use two different sets of standards to evaluate candidates. You have one set of rules for Cruz, and another for Trump and for yourself.

You can run away from the facts and live in your fantasy world, but the facts are the facts.

The Cruz campaign stated that Carson was suspending his campaign AFTER both CNN and Carson said otherwise. The Cruz operators were lying liars, and anyone with an ounce of integrity would have fired them.

“The Cruz campaign stated that Carson was suspending his campaign AFTER both CNN and Carson said otherwise.”

The CNN tweet and TV cast were both a few minutes before caucusing began. Roughly 15 minutes. What was significant and completely unexpected by the Cruz campaign was that Carson said he would not be in NH and SC. In other words, he was skipping the debates. This was breaking news. (Turns out this was a FALSE statement by CNN. And Carson’s team initially blamed the media for the false report.)

This was the equivalent to a coach in the super bowl getting news that the quarter back on the opposing team cannot play. Of course the coach is going to tell his team. And of course he is not going to use a time out to call his team back in and let them know it was misinformation.

This was probably intentional on the part of CNN. And Cruz’z team should have verified anything coming from the Communist News Network. The fact they disbursed this “news” at the worst possible moment for Carson and everyone in the Republican campaign is highly suspicious.

But treating this like it was some sort of planned conspiracy on the part of the Cruz team to deprive Carson of votes he would have otherwise gotten is ridiculous. Anyone who believes that puts their trust in the MSM who are proven liars.

“The Cruz operators were lying liars, and anyone with an ounce of integrity would have fired them.”

You have a very clear problem with discerning who is truthful and who is a liar. Usually when people are deceived it is because they want to believe something is true when it is not. People want to believe Cruz is bad because they get to be part of the in crowd that hates conservatives. Making friends with enemies of conservatism is selling your soul. That is the problem most of our Republican leaders have. They want to be liked. They want to secure and amass power for themselves. And they want to get rich and live in the lap of luxury for being a “public servant”.

You have a bad case of misdirected skepticism and have allowed others to manipulate your naive and gullible nature.

For the second time, you also conveniently ignored my detailed answer AND my point about how you and those like you use two different sets of standards to evaluate candidates. You have one set of rules for Cruz, and another for Trump and for yourself.

You ALSO conveniently ran away from your original claim in which you asserted — mockingly, derisively, condescendingly — how you heard with your own ears the Cruz campaign NOT implying but explicitly saying Carson was “dropping out”. This lie has been repeated so often (Goebbels) it is now being accepted as fact even though it never happened. And you are guilty of spreading this falsehood. And the least you should do is admit your mistake and move on. If you cannot bring yourself to do that then I can only think it is an intentional, nasty, lie on your part intended to malign a great conservative just because he is not your preferred candidate. What other excuse is there?

You are too drunk with Cruz worship to be rational. The Cruz campaign blasted the news to EVERY caucus location that Carson had suspended his campaign. It was a LIE. A filthy, rotten, stinking lie.

And you are defending it. This is what happens when you support a liar. Your morals collapse.

“The Cruz campaign blasted the news to EVERY caucus location that Carson had suspended his campaign. It was a LIE.”

Blasted huh? Is that what it was? The voice message was internal. Have you ever been to a caucus? Do you understand what the campaign staff do? You do realize don’t you that Cruz did not have a closed network television where he came on and announced to the voting public that Carson just told CNN he is going home and not going to the next two debates? Please tell me you know this.

Ignore, ignore, ignore. Deny, deny, deny. Scream your meme over and over until you are blue in the face and actually convince yourself you are being honest, even when all rationality, all logic, all moral sensibility, all alertness to your own conscience are SCREAMING back at you to stop and think.

I have addressed EVERY issue brought up. I refuted every point. I have addressed many issues to you, ALL of which you continue to ignore AND simply repeat what you already said.

You accuse others of lying, but when I expose specifically, using your own words, exactly where you were wrong, you could not show the slightest humility and admit your claim to have heard “dropping out” with your own ears NEVER happened.

Just admit that much. I am now asserting you are liar because you continue to stand by your original position when you KNOW it was wrong.

The irony is too thick. The very thing you stake your whole argument on — the Cruz team knowingly spreading something untrue would be a LIE — is EXACTLY what you are doing now. You think they should have retracted or corrected it when CNN corrected it. Yet you will not retract or correct your own erroneous statements.

You mocked me when I said the Cruz team internal voice mail message was implied to mean Carson was dropping out. You said, and I quote, “IMPLIED??? What are you smoking? There was no implication. Or have you not listened to the voicemails that were sent to Every Single Caucus Location? I bought the LIE that the Cruz campaign only repeated what CNN reported. Then I listened to the voicemails.”

Yet, when we both listen to these messages, you will NOT admit that they did NOT say “dropping out” or “withdraw”. You completely ignore that timing and context of what was said. Do you have a clue what it means that a major media outlet interviews a leading presidential candidate and reports right before a Caucus that this candidate is “going home” and is NOT going to the next two debates?

That sounded EXACTLY like Carson was dropping out. It sounded so much like this that news outlets OTHER than CNN began to openly question if Carson was dropping out. And I showed you the time stamped proof. What Carson said, according to CNN, sounds like the kind of thing he said recently about not seeing a path forward and then officially dropping out later. That is EXACTLY how this report sounded. And it happened minutes before the caucus. Go check out the time of the tweet and live TV report. I showed you the links already.

But I doubt you will. I doubt at this point if a thundering voice from Heaven told you that you are wrong, that you would listen. You prefer being wrong. You prefer your dishonesty and hypocrisy.

You actually accuse me of Cruz worship and the inability to be rational. Since I have openly said I can vote for Trump, I think to anyone objective it is obvious you are projecting what you know deep down about yourself. Look in the mirror. It is you who is unable to be objective, rational, or even face reality. You are hypnotized. You are starstruck. Snap out of it.

And I will repeat for the fourth time, why do you judge Cruz by a different standard than you have for yourself or your preferred candidate? Can’t answer? Won’t answer? Can’t even be honest with yourself.

You will probably never be mature or honest enough to come back and admit you were wrong. That is a trait few people have. I have it. I have done it EVERY time on this forum someone proved me wrong. I am man enough to admit when I am wrong. You are not. So you will just have to live with that still, small voice in the back of your head warning you of your error. You can continue to “blast” music to drown it out. You can drink. You can do drugs. You can scream. You can chant mantras. You can stew in your anger at people who reprove your error. You can do whatever it is you do to drown it out. But it is there. And it is warning you. And you are ignoring it.

You have gone from irrational to psychotic insanity. You claim I said I heard “dropping out” with my own ears.

LISTEN UP.

It is the voices in your head who claimed they heard the words “dropping out” with their own ears. I NEVER SAID IT.

If this is the best you can do, no bleeding wonder you hear a lie and think it’s true.

No.

Bleeding.

Wonder.

“You claim I said I heard ‘dropping out’ with my own ears.”

You simply refuse to face reality. My conscience is clear. God and everyone on this forum can see EXACTLY what you said and what I said.

You MOCKED me when I said specifically that “dropping out” was IMPLIED. You accused me of doing drugs.

Here is the exact post where you did this:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3404924/posts?page=130#116

My words you quoted were: “You guys are the same ones who denounced Cruz as a liar because his campaign implied Carson was dropping out after Iowa.”

Your reply was: “Implied? IMPLIED??? What are you smoking? There was no implication. Or have you not listened to the voicemails that were sent to Every Single Caucus Location?”

You have wasted hours of time defending your false statement. AND YOU KNOW IT IS A FALSE STATEMENT BUT YOU STAND BY IT.

“I NEVER SAID IT.”

You claimed precisely that you heard the voice mails, AND they did NOT IMPLY Carson was dropping out. What else can your words mean than the Cruz team supposedly saying he was “dropping out”? There are only three possible meanings of your claim: they did not imply it because they said nothing remotely similar (which is obviously NOT what you meant), they did say something similar but did not imply he was dropping out (which is obviously NOT what you meant), or they said those exact words. If there is some other possible explanation then please point it out. And please explain how I have misconstrued your mockery and claim that there was not an implication but a literal statement. And you know that is exactly the meaning of your words which I have reposted here for all to see.

Nowhere is there a single solitary piece of evidence that any of the Cruz staff said Carson was “dropping out” or “withdrawing”.

Further, you specifically condemn the Cruz team response that they were passing along what CNN reported. But I have showed how that is what they did. I do not know what you think the Cruz team should have done. Ignore that a major candidate said he was skipping the next two debates and going home? Tell the staff, yes that is happening but don’t read too much into it, all candidates do stuff like this before getting serious about their campaign? Yeah, right.

If you can find ONE recording of any Cruz staffer saying specifically Carson was “dropping out” during the Iowa caucus, I will man up like you are completely incapable of doing because a serious character defect, and I will openly, plainly apologize in no uncertain terms. I will admit you were right. I will retract calling you a liar. But you have had every opportunity to offer proof but cited the same voice mails that I cited to you.

This was supposedly happening openly at every caucus location all over Iowa. But coincidentally not a single case was documented.

The media used the word “suspend” and I showed you a link to this. This “LIE” (by CNN and not Cruz) became a factual error that Cruz’s team AND other media outlets spread unknowingly. And it happened right in the caucusing when everyone is extremely busy trying to get the voting done.

Suspend means stopping his campaign. It does not necessarily mean the same thing as dropping out. Not going to the next two debates is definitely suspending. It probably implies reassessing. It MAY mean dropping out is imminent.

“If this is the best you can do, no bleeding wonder you hear a lie and think it’s true.”

For the fifth time, why do you insist on judging Cruz by a different standard than yourself and your candidate? I KNOW that Trump has said factually inaccurate things. He has contradicted his own words, repeatedly. I am willing to overlook this and vote for him anyway. I don’t like it. I wish he would not use exaggeration and hyperbole to the extreme in which his statements are just wrong. But he is what he is. That’s politics. You take the good with the bad.

Only Trump gets a pass with you for contradictory statements and saying things that IMPLY really nasty stuff. Trump can say “she has blood coming out of her... wherever” and get away with it. Great. Glad he can take out the MSM and come away unscathed. The difference is you are okay with Trump making these kind of implicative statements or outright wrong statements, but Cruz needs to be crucified. Trump can compare Carson to a pedophile, but that is supposedly not dirty politics.

I prefer Cruz. I can live with Trump, especially if he keeps his word and governs conservatively. What I am NOT okay with is the thousands of substance free attacks on Cruz who is, by the standard of EVERY conservative organization that rates candidates, the most conservative candidate in the race, generally earning a 100% score. Does Cruz have flaws? Sure. So does everyone. But I am NOT going to stand by and watch what is really happening which is attacks on conservatism itself.

But you have some sort of deep-seated HATRED for Cruz. I question your honesty and integrity. Cruz was willing to do everything in his power to stop and defund Obamacare. He single-handedly stopped amnesty in the gang of eight bill from becoming law. He risked his career denouncing the lies of the GOPe. He made a lot of enemies. None of them are conservative though, including Donald Trump. So I think I have every reason to question your motives and integrity when you insist on spreading lying Goebbel style memes.

Quit rehashing the same thing over and over, ignoring every piece of evidence I have presented, and dragging this out endlessly. I am not asking for an apology. I simply asking you to face the facts of your own words. It really is not that hard to say that you misspoke and just admit, the communications by the Cruz camp merely implied Carson was dropping out. That is just a fact. I am not even asking you to admit that the CNN statements and other news media statements implied Carson was dropping out, even though that is also a fact. Everyone makes mistakes. Everyone misspeaks sometimes. It’s really only a problem when a person cannot own up to it. Honestly, whether the Cruz team IMPLIED or ACTUALLY said Carson was dropping out is not really germane to your argument. As a debater, you should be prepared to let go of failed arguments and focus on your main point.

I am saying this for your benefit. After me calling you out so harshly, you may be unable to hear it from me. But you could make some decent arguments for your candidate and against other candidates if you could let go of these failed efforts. Just give up on the whole “implied” point. You lost. Move on. Live to fight another battle. It’s not worth fighting a losing one. Prove that you can do better. I actually suspect that you can. In fact, I’m pretty sure I have seen some good posts from you over the last several months. So, if I have been so harsh I hurt your feelings, I apologize. I’m not trying to destroy a potential ally against Clinton or Sanders or Obama. But take it for what it’s worth and move on.

Reread my posts. I NEVER said I heard “dropping out” with my own ears. I said the voicemail stated that Carson was “suspending his campaign. That is a FACT.

You are the one who used a political synonym for “suspending a campaign.” YOU said that, not I.

You are mortified by the FACT that Cruz’ campaign blasted the false message that Carson was suspending his campaign. So like the consummate Pharisee, you substitute YOUR words for mine, and then attack me for not denouncing words I NEVER said.

READ IT AGAIN. I said. SUSPENDING. The Cruz camp said “SUSPENDING.”

And it was a LIE.

“You are mortified by the FACT that Cruz’ campaign blasted the false message that Carson was suspending his campaign. So like the consummate Pharisee, you substitute YOUR words for mine, and then attack me for not denouncing words I NEVER said.”

Let me help you out. If I were trying to make your case, I would argue that “suspend” is the same exact thing as “drop out”. It is not. But that is your only line of defense. Sorry. It does not work.

I pointed out EXACTLY what you said. You questioned if I was doing drugs because I said the Cruz team reported what CNN said which IMPLIED Carson was dropping out.

It is still VERY, VERY clear that what CNN reported, what other media outlets reported (specifically “suspend”) only IMPLIED Carson was dropping out. He had not made an announcement. They ALL knew this.

And skipping the next two debates to go home is “suspending”. If I was a Cruz campaigner on the sidewalk at a voting place talking to voters, I would have used the words “dropping out”. I would not have lied. I would have said,

“I just read a CNN tweet that said Carson is going home and not going to the debates in SC and NH. What does that mean? I can’t say for sure, because he has not made an announcement yet, but it looks like he is finished. Why don’t you consider Cruz as an alternative to Carson?”

If it came out that this report was in error, I would obviously NOT use a false report.

I am losing count now. Is this the sixth or seventh time for me to ask you to explain why you HATE Cruz over this supposed lie, not from Cruz himself, but a staffer; but you are okay with Trump himself comparing Carson to a pedophile? Why do you have a different standard for Cruz and Trump?
