Dear Evangelical Trumpsters
Patriot Post ^ | Feb. 29, 2016 | Lloyd Marcus

Posted on 02/29/2016 10:20:53 AM PST by SoConPubbie

My 87-year-old black dad has been a Christian pastor for over 50 years. I phoned, “Dad, what do I say to Christians who support Trump rather than Ted Cruz?” Dad replied, “Trump says he is a Christian.”

Matthews 7:16 — “Ye shall know them by their fruits.”

Ted Cruz is the only candidate who grasps the intensity of the Democrats', mainstream media’s and homosexual activists' assault on religious liberty. Cruz has a peerless record of furiously fighting against it. When the Supreme Court, in essence, made it against the law to follow God’s Word, which disapproves of homosexuals changing God’s definition of marriage, gay activist George Takei said this is only the beginning. Because black Justice Clarence Thomas ruled against twisting the Constitution to please homosexuals, Takei called Thomas “a clown in blackface who should not be on the Supreme Court.”

Folks, imagine the mainstream media firestorm had a Republican called a black Supreme Court Justice a clown in blackface. Takei is allowed to make such a racist comment because his anti-Christian agenda is the same as today’s Democratic Party and mainstream media.

Christian clerk Kim Davis was thrown into jail for not issuing marriage licenses to homosexual couples. Ted Cruz led the charge. “I stand with Kim Davis!” Cruz said. “I call upon every believer, every Constitutionalist, every lover of liberty to stand with Kim Davis.”

Trump sided against Kim Davis. Trump said, “You have to go with it. The decision has been made, and that is the law of the land.”

My fellow Christians, make no mistake about it. The Left is coming after us, determined to make us embrace all forms of anti-biblical behaviors. Noncompliance will result in ending your ability to earn a living and even jail time.

Christian “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson said, “If you’re homosexual, He’ll take it away. If you’re an adulterer, if you’re a liar, what’s the difference? If you break one sin, you may as well break them all.” Phil continued, “Why don’t we just love each other enough that we wouldn’t want to do these things to each other?” Robertson was stunned by the mainstream media firestorm. Robertson was suspended from his hit TV show, intensely hated and accused of spreading hate. Naive 67-year-old Robertson said, “All I did was quote from scriptures.” Sorry Phil, quoting from the Bible is no longer permitted in today’s America. Public outcry got Phil back on his TV show.

Phil Robertson endorsed Ted Cruz and spoke at a Cruz rally. Robertson rocked the house, receiving long enthusiastic applause when he said Americans should spend more time being biblically correct rather than politically correct.

Remember the attack on a bakery owned by a young Christian couple with five kids? A lesbian who the bakery had served for years asked for a cake for her wedding to a woman. The bakers said doing so would betray their faith. The bakers, Aaron and Melissa Klein, were state-ordered to pay the lesbian couple $135,000 in damages. The Kleins were also ordered not to speak publicly about their case, repealing their First Amendment rights.

Now get this, folks: Christians around the country sent funds to a website to pay the Klein’s fine. Homosexual activists successfully closed down the website. Another website picked up the baton to save the Klein family’s livelihood. Clearly, the fine was not about paying the lesbian couple. It was about punishing the Kleins, sending a message to Christians and Christian business owners across America. Buck us and we will destroy you.

Aaron Klein posted, “We stand for God’s truth, God’s Word and freedom for ALL Americans… We are here to obey God, not man, and we will not conform to this world. If we were to lose everything, it would be totally worth it for our Lord who gave His one and only son, Jesus, for us! God will win this fight!”

If we know nothing else about Ted Cruz, we know he has proven himself to be a man of great faith and a man of his word. Ted Cruz vows that on his first day as president he will direct the DOJ and IRS to put an end to the persecution of religious liberty.

Cruz also vows to drop the Obama administration’s lawsuit against Little Sisters of the Poor, who have been ministering to the elderly and dying for over 100 years. The nuns said their faith prevents them from funding contraception as mandated in Obamacare. The Obama administration says screw your faith, comply or be disbanded.

Cruz’s first day in the White House includes a promise to instruct the DOJ to investigate the videos exposing the reprehensible evil behind the walls of Planned Parenthood. The vile government-funded baby killers have been proven to be nothing more than an abortion factory and dead-baby-body-parts chop shop. Cruz wants the DOJ to prosecute PP for any criminal violations.

Fellow Christians, I pray that you let the spirit of the Lord lead you in your decision regarding our nation’s leadership.

Why are Trump’s promises less valuable than any of the other candidates?

Trump has an amazing portfolio of success in business. Everyone harps on the four chapter 11 bankruptcies. Besides the four failures, he’s employed thousands of people, built/owns world class structures.

I’ll take him at his word, that the wall will be built and the Muslim invasion stopped.

I’ve been voting for republicans who make similar promises. Unfortunately they have a track record: promises unfulfilled.

Cruz is not only eligible. He’s the best choice.

Some points on why the bankruptcies matter:

1. They expose the fallacy that Trump is beholden to no one and built his success with his own money. Bankruptcy is only needed to deal with creditors you cannot keep your agreement with. If you really did it with your money, you simply sell the assets and terminate the employees to close a failing business.

2. In the business world a bankruptcy represents the ultimate level of broken promise. One can (and probably does) break many more of those promises to the investors on the way to the bankruptcy. One can also break many promises but not end up at the bankruptcy level. There is just not a public record of those broken promises like there is for campaign promises.

3. Bankruptcy in the private sector is the same as deficit spending in the public sector, but does not have the black checks from the taxpayers. But both are the result of practicing poor fiduciary responsibility.

You should be viewing those with the same level of scrutiny.

As Ted Cruz is unelectable is is all a moot point.
Donald Trump is the one with a good chance of being elected as President.

Trump supporters and liberals: ad hominem and projection.

Your post is a form of the latter.

I am not voting for someone who is anti-gay or ant-abortion. I am voting for someone who is pro America and who can not only win the primary, but who can win the general election. If Hillary wins, gay and abortion issues will be moot. Our country will be moot too. Reality may suck, but it is real. Cruz never had a chance to win the general election.

Cruz has shown himself to be just another politician. For sale to the highest PAC. I really thought he was different.

Well, I guess people aren’t uncomfortable enough in their lives to pick a true Conservative. Trump is the easy way out. It’s great to be on the winning team. That’s exactly what the Obama supporters thought too.

Not just a reply to you.....

But, I will bet anyone here..or here in my state...Trump will not build a wall. It's not going to happen. It's a lie..to get him..to where he wants to go. Period.

Trump will not keep Muslims out of this country..and anyone that thinks that...is no different than the voters that elected Obama...on Hope and Change.

I was just afraid for my country for many months...I am now very fearful for the future.

Most people..and I'm afraid...that many Freeper's are not critical thinker's anymore...But, soundbite fish. Fish that get hooked.

I am now more than ever concerned about me and mine...Not about you. My country has abandoned me...My family going back generations has worked..been very successful...paid their dues. But none of that seems to matter anymore....

Now..it's my family and close friends only.

Nothing matters anymore politically to me...there are no critical thinker's...there is no reason in politics.

Blah, blah, blah.

Divine Providence seems to indicate that Donald Trump is God’s man at this time.

It’s great to be on the winning team.

And, anyone who votes for a man “who is electable”, is an idiot with no core principles. A follower of the mob.

I NEVER vote for that individual who I think can win.

I vote for that person who I believe is the best man for the job.

In the end, I have to live with myself...

Right now I’m having a real tough time figuring out who is the best for the job, as they ALL are unqualified.

Love ya, Lloyd — appreciated your participation in the 2009 Tea Party rally at the Capitol, but no. Not this guy.

We like the nasty vulgar smart tough guy this time. He is more sincere about his downside.

But you see Ted is really a rotten guy! I know, because Donald “I spoke out against the Iraq War beforehand” Trump and Marco “Ted can’t speak Spanish” Rubio told me he’s a liar.

Sigh, Trump was involved in business deals that ended up in restructuring. (Yes, and it happens) Trump’s partners were aware of the risks and understood what can happen in businesses that carry risks. BTW, they were in the investments because they also carry the potential for high returns. Don’t feel sorry for these guys.

You would not be upset if a family had to declare bankruptcy because their child had extremely high uncovered medical bills? Get over the bankruptcy thing, unless you believe Trump went into the deal intending to lose money — you would not go there would you?

As far as doing what he says he will do, in every deal in the Real Estate world you need to go through with the plan. Trump has built many developments, its a difficult thing with lots of potential pitfalls. I only built one unit and ran into a host of problems that required money to overcome. I consider it a good lesson and one that I wold not wish to repeat but I broke even. However, I realize Trump has the ability to design and see things through and so we will see the wall built. Have more courage Tex. (BTW, we lived in Texas for 8 years, love the state.)

Prompted by your answer, I looked up info on the bankruptcies.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/what-trump-didnt-say-about-his-four-big-business-bankruptcies/2015/08/07/bc054e64-3d12-11e5-9c2d-ed991d848c48_story.html

I think it was supposed to be a negative article. One thing that caught my eye was the article saying Trump spent millions of dollars from his personal fortune to keep the restructurings alive.

My overall impression is the article tries to be negative with information that is more neutral.
