...the headlines made it seem like ride-sharing service Uber was to blame. Why?

Yeah! Don't they know it was the Confederate flag?

It's Uber's Fault

Do you notice how they keep defining the insane Kalamazoo shooter as an "Uber driver"? This association is for the exact purpose of tainting Uber. The guy was 'barely' a Uber driver, and it certainly does not define him, but the association is part of a perpetual campaign against the privateers who dare to challenge the very lucrative government monopoly on transportation.

It's Uber's Fault - Part 2

No sooner did I post this about the latest attack on Uber, then this hit my Twitter feed: "What is Uber Actually Doing to Keep Riders Safe?" Mother Jones and other anti-everything media outlets will have a field day on this Uber-gun combo regarding the Kalamazoo shooter. To quote:

During the ride: In the event of an emergency during an Uber ride, passengers have few options to keep themselves safe-one of the reasons the company has drawn criticism for numerous reports of crimes, including sexual violence, committed during rides over the past few years. Passengers can send details of their trip to contacts, but there is no obvious, built-in way to contact the company or law enforcement in the midst of a dangerous ride.

Are they kidding? And this is different from the government-enabled transportation monopoly -- how? When I have traveled to Chicago for business, I absolutely loathe and fear getting into one of those disgusting, dirty cabs with yet another crazed driver who cuts people off, tailgates everyone, and screams obscenities at others. When I stayed at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place last year, I was completely shut out of an Uber option, as Chicago fights to keep its cabbie monopoly intact. I am unarmed while in Chicago, so it is a very tedious experience for me. At one point, after many bad cab experiences in one trip, I demanded that the hotel allow me to approve of a cabbie before I jumped in as merely "the next person in the cab line."

At first I thought the same thing about media reports aimed at tainting Uber, but apparently the Uber angle is relevant to the case. From the reports I’ve seen, the guy picked up a couple of Uber fares in the midst of his killing spree, and one of the key witnesses in the case is a passenger who was so alarmed at the guy’s driving that he bailed out of the car at a traffic light and fled.

Because they are trying to foment an anti-Uber backlash for the benefit of the highly Unionized taxi cartel.

Liberals fear free enterprise even more than they fear guns

Because Uber is a threat to the establishment.

911 should be under attack. His passenger called 911 an hour before the shootings started to report the Uber driver/serial killer for driving erratically and over the speed limit. Nothing was done

The MSM should be under attack for leaving this fact out of most of their reporting.

The only way I have seen or heard the shooter described has been as the “Uber Driver”
Could there be a propaganda agenda here?
Do you think so?

Taxi drivers are as close to union members as you will see in livery services.

So of course liberals (aka the press) will attack challengers.

Because they aren’t unionized, I bet the shooter is somehow connected to unions.

Uber already banned their drivers from carrying firearms. This serial shooter broke the rules, so we need stronger rules.

Because before the shootings a passenger fled one of his dangerous rides, where he was crossing over medians and sideswiping cars. The passenger told Uber, but law enforcement was not involved in time to make a difference. Not sure if he also called 911, but Uber had the guy’s constant GPS coordinates, and picking him up should have been easy.
