Cruz, to be clear, is a first term Senator, not a DC-insider and did not make a “career in politics” in DC.

Some may be confused by the accusation that a career in politics means a DC career in politics.

Cruz’s Texas political career, no doubt, lead lawyer for the conservative state and all that (never governor), but let’s not forget DC insiders/politicians hate Cruz.

Cruz is an Ivy League lawyer just like most of the other people who have run this country for years. Before his Texas political career he was a director at the Federal Trade Commission and worked in the office of the Attorney General in the U.S. Dept. of Justice.

I would prefer Cruz over any of the other GOP contenders , but let's make no mistake about it ... he's as much an insider as anyone in D.C.
