Good. Kind of mild in comparison to a true child prodigy like Mark O’Connor, who was winning national competitions at age12 and 14.

Well done. Andy McKee’s Rylynn. She’s really good. Like Andy’s writing- he’s got a great one called “my life as a cpa” lol.

Guitar guys writing songs for their loves.

A friend, Todd Hallawell wrote this “hit” “Leola Kay”, which you might also like. See him every year at the Chet Atkins festival:

Nice, but I will stick with Rodrigo y Gabriela, here doing Diablo Rojo

Mark was and still is quite an amazing player over the years. The track you posted is Dixie Breakdown, at the Winfield National contest. The judges, btw, were: Doc Watson, Norman Blake and John Hartford.

For jazz/bluegrass taste here he is with some serious masters (Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Mark Schatz) and giving one an idea of how large a guy he grew into, giant really- doing Chick Corea’s “Spain”— excellent.

Great presence and timing— think I’ve heard them once, somewhere.

Something I came across— a “one of” 1679 Stradivarius guitar, played rather well by Rolf Lislevand - “Santiago de Murcia- Tarantela”

Sandra Bae is a lot easier on the eyes.

Although I am a banjo player, I prefer Andy McKee to Earl Scruggs or Lester Flatt.

If you want to learn how to play this song, there is a 30 minute lesson here”

Andy McKee also has an instructional video in broken parts starting here:

I’m sure there are tabs somewhere. You need a banjo capo and new strings. :-)

Wow, nice. I’ve got a book with a picture of that guitar...cool to actually hear how it sounds. That guy nailed the performance.

If you are into latin beat, here is Sandra Bae doing a latin jazz version of Over the Rainbow:

Tell me you don’t love it!

She can play anything.

That was masterful. Thank you. I have found, with Spanish guitar, that only half the performance is in the ear...the other half is in watching the finger-work.
