NH is too left wing to represent the GOP.
Group them with Iowa and 3 other states on opening day. Put in a couple from deep south and one from the far west.
I am sick of the establishment having the NH place of honor.
A single national primary would favor the big day donor class candidates like Jeb.

Kasich getting 15% really doesn’t surprise me. While I wouldn’t vote for him, he has a better resume than Bush, Christie or most of the other candidates. He is a two term governor of a swing state. He was budget chairman in Congress during the Gingrich years and, at the time, was a budget hawk. If he didn’t take a sharp turn to the Left while he was governor, I’d probably vote for him. But something happened to him over the past decade to turn him into a “Jesus would want us to expand Welfare”, Huckabee-type Christian Socialist.
Oh yeah? Well those people shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
Then say goodbye to anybody but the establishment candidate with the big donors.
They'd be the only candidates with sufficient money to campaign in a national primary.
And indeed the RINO did win NH last night.

I’m an adopted Granite-Stater. I fled the People’s Republic of Mass 30 years ago but the bastards followed me. NH is lost.
Look at our Federal representation, Shaheen and Ayotte in the Senate and Kuster and Giunta in the House. Three of the four are a disgrace. We also have a Progressive Governor, Maggie Hassan.
It is much too easy to game the system here with same day registrations and an open primary where registered Independents can switch into either Party on the day of the vote, making it easy to wreak chaos and sabotage a true conservative. We always seem to end up with Democrat-lite instead of a true contrast with the chosen Progressive.
I’m all for stripping NH of our first in the nation status and giving to a conservative state for the good of the nation.
Iowa seemed to be a wonderful place a week ago.

But I do agree that NEITHER state should be first.
Iowa needs to abolish the caucus, as well as any state that uses it, and there should be regional primaries with one big delegate state, and several smaller ones grouped together.
By the way, what ever happened to the Free State Project? Is this the result???

A state that constantly runs to the nearest Democrat in the fall after we allow it to pick a candidate based on how long they live there, and how many Bible verses they can recite.
Perhaps he'll stay at 1% or so in SC.

You must have been picked-on alot in grade school.
The only way to get the nomination process fixed is to take over the Presidency and the party apparatus.
The Iowa caucus process should be eliminated and replaced by a primary. Leave Iowa in the position it is but if they don’t want to change the process move the first primary to another state. Have two primary states the second week one in the northeast and one in the south.
Have two more state primaries the third week in the west and SW.
Beginning in the fourth week have regional primaries.
Either make all primary states winner take all or proportional but do not allow both. Proportional allocation is done now by the establishment to dilute “enthusiastic” voting by a candidates or candidates following. Later they move to winner take all which favors an establishment candidate and takes interest out of the process for those candidates who do not believe they can be first place in a state.
Finally, allow only Republicans and independents to vote in the primaries with no change of party registration in the sixty days prior to the start of a primary. This stops a party with a selected candidate from having its voters switch over and support weaker candidates in the primary. Some states have open primaries where one just has to declare which party they are voting for on primary day. Some states all independent and party affiliated registered voters only and the rest party ID voters only.
Not perfect but a start. My view your views will vary.
