When a man with a bandanna over part of his face walked into the CVS on South Crater Road in Petersburg Tuesday morning, workers were concerned he planned to rob the store. Those workers called police who swarmed the pharmacy.
"I saw the police cars," witness Britani Richer said. Richer was driving by at the time recorded video of the scene. "There were a lot of police cars and. the police were running back and forth with guns drawn."
Once inside the store, police found the man with the bandanna, later identified as 27-year-old Toddaryl Brown. Brown said he wore the bandanna not because he wanted to rob the business, but because he had a toothache.
But Brown was carrying a gun at the time, police said.
"[He] did not have a proper permit. Brown was charged with one felony count of wearing a mask and creating public alarm and misdemeanors for a concealed weapon violation and disorderly conduct," Petersburg Police spokeswoman Esther Hyatt said. "The scene was clear within the first hour and the store remained opened for business."
Witness Rhonda Dixon called the entire situation unsettling.

What about people wearing hospital masks to prevent spread of disease? Common in places like Tokyo where people shop while wearing a hospital mask covering their nose and mouth. Not so common here in the U.S.A. but I’ve worn one at times to prevent spreading an illness.
I don’t know what would be more embarrassing for him; getting his live saved by a hated cop or dying of a drug OD at such a “mature” age.
My first thought is this is not in a great part of town, and that they have had stickups for oxycontin and things like that. I’ll have to check out the area.
Don’t know what to think. I think I’d have to be there. And cop s usually aren’t fast enough to prevent robberies.

Uh, I got a ..... toothache. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
When I had pneumonia last month I was asked to wear a surgical mask outside for a week after they let me out of the hospital just to be sure I was not still contagious

His mother wasn’t sure whether Todd or Daryl was the baby-daddy.
I just found it funny since so many medicines end in -aryl.
