Indian Leopard Injures Six in Bangalore School [Article and Video]
The BBC ^ | February 8, 2016

A male leopard which entered a school in the Indian city of Bangalore injured six people trying to capture it.

A scientist and a forestry employee were among those mauled during the near 10-hour long effort to corner the dangerous animal on Sunday.

The leopard, which strolled into the Vibgyor International school, was eventually tranquillised and released.

A recent wildlife census estimated that India has a leopard population of between 12,000 and 14,000.

The eight-year-old male was spotted strolling inside the school premises in the Kundalahalli area.

They gave a cheetah to Queen Victoria and it lived in the Tower of London.

I’ve always wondered how people that believe in reincarnation deal with these issues. We had an Indian student killed by a black bear here in NJ a little over a year ago; how do they react to that (as opposed to how we would react to it)?

I just learned, after reading this article, that India has leopards. Never knew.

My little black panther is a sweet guy.

He likes to cuddle. Now that’s a big kitty!

I thought for sure the animal (leopard) would have been killed. Here it would have been.

I know they have killed tigers in India (when they snack on farmers and such), but beyond that - we look at this as the normal behavior of a wild animal, while they think the animal has the soul of a deceased person inside it.

Me neither.

Same for cheetahs. Maybe they imported them for the rajahs.

Leopards are found throughout Africa and Asia.

They’re ambush predators and they typically drag their prey into trees to protect them from lions and tigers.

A headline after the video suggests that leopards are really not to blame. If it weren’t for human encroachment, these things wouldn’t happen. Why is it that response comes up so often in the press. Why just today Jane Fonda suggests that Donald Trump is turning Muslims to terrorism in greater number than otherwise they would. Bizarre, eh?

Both the leopard and jaguar have melanistic forms.

The spots and rosettes on a black cat can be seen in bright sunlight.

The cat looks like a printed silkscreen, just beautiful to watch as it moves.
