I prefer to hear the Nat’l Anthem from a soprano voice and although Fleming’s rendition a few years ago was superior to Gaga’s from a purely vocal standpoint, I’m astonished to find myself saying that Gaga’s was beautifully bereft of the pretentiousness of Fleming’s, and seemed genuinely heartfelt. Wild and nutty as the girl may be, it’s evident Lady Gaga is truly talented as well as patriotic.

Black Gospel versions of the national anthem are as American as apple pie, FRiend.
She’s always been a talented singer with far more vocal skill than all of the other “pop princesses.” This same reaction happened when she sang a Sound of Music song at the Oscars last year. I’m just trying to wonder why people are surprised. She shows real talent in her work. Bad Romance and Edge of Glory are two of the best pop songs in recent history.

A few years ago I discovered that Gaga had a great voice and was an accomplished pianist.
Somehow I stumbled on “Lady Gaga acoustic” videos on youtube.
She sings her hits, but it’s just her and the piano and I realized what a voice she had.
It’s almost as if she’s trying to legitimize her talents.It’s hard to really hear “her” in the music videos she used to make.
