If only they had the same care for innocents killed by Dindus and illegals.
aaahhhh. In 2006 my daughter, granddaughter, and I went to Sea World and stayed in a motel walking distance from the park. Just before we went to dinner this big van showed up and several young people started hauling animals into one of the motel rooms below us. We stood on the balcony and watched them bring in parrots, monkeys, snakes, a sloth, and the best was the joey. Just amazing to watch. We expected a rowdy night but it was all quiet.
Besides the “Aw, poor baby” comments, most blame climate change though one has it right that without human intervention it’s nature;s way of culling over population.
I’ve been around a lot of different animals over my life, & the intelligence range is as variable as with humans. A seal pup with the smarts to go find help is worthy of assistance. Of course, if we protect the smart ones, they might end up competing with us for domination of the earth eventually. ;-)
When my son was a tyke, we camped out on the black sand beach at Shelter Cove. We encountered a seal pup. We had tinned sardines, and my boy put some on the ground, a short distance from the seal’s nose. The pup crawled over and ate. Magic moment.
