I agree that the later they got, the worse it got. I know Hysteria was their biggest selling album, but it was only ok to me.

Bringin' on the Heartbreak may be my favorite song of theirs. However the song Photograph, IMO, is the best pop/metal 80s hairband song out there (whatever that means). I don't know if anyone currently 45-55 couldn't keep from air guitaring that opening riff, as soon as they hear it.

Pyromania was the last album that Pete Willis played on and wrote songs for. That’s why it sounds sort of like a hybrid of the original stuff plus what came after.

I don’t want to knock Rick Allen post-accident, but he did have a distinct style that he didn’t seem to have recovered.

Phil Collen probably brought the glam stuff in more than any of the prior members, having played for a band called “Girl” before joining (singer was Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns).
