I have GPS in my car, but have hardly ever used it. Don’t want to get reliant on it.

I was going to say something about that: reliance on new technology. We can no longer fix our own cars. As the main character's son points out in White Noise, if you went to another planet you would not be able to explain to anyone how anything works.
