No, no, you just don't understand. Cruz's campaign sent that fundraiser, in the hopes that someone would dig it up in a FR thread before the NH primary (months later) to falsely discredit Trump's "self-funding" campaign narrative.
That's just how deep Cruz's campaign dirty tricks run.
Same reason one of the Super PACs is selling phony Trump hats on Amazon. Proceeds to the PAC. I can’t remember if is the Senate one or not. None of the hats on Amazon are the real ones.
