Some do, just to get the refunds.
Earned Income Tax Credit. Look it up, most get maximum due to several kids and low wages. Unearned income such as welfare, food stamps, and other freebies are not counted against them. Many file with different names as posted above, the fraud and abuse is monumental. Even following the rules they can get back a hefty refund in the thousands.
US citizens have to use Social Security number for each child they claim. If both parents claim the same child it kicks out the second return, has nothing to do with whether they are married or not.
Illegals can use a TPIN instead of a Social Security number, and they must not be required to have a SSN for children as they regularly use not only their own on multiple returns but use children that live in Mexico and even nieces and nephews.
Illegals have some way around it, they claim children living in Mexico that have never set foot here. I don’t see how those children could have a SSN.
I have very little experience with payroll, but I remember being surprised years ago when I helped set up payroll with Quickbooks for a project I worked with that what I payed in taxes was matched dollar for dollar by the employer. I was young and naive-it was the first time I had a glimpse of how much businesses pay in taxes.
I know that refugees don’t pay taxes - a friend works where there are a lot of Somalians and they brag and show everyone their pay stubs so all can see they don’t have to pay taxes.
So my question is if businesses are hiring refugees because it saves them money-they are essentially getting a tax break to NOT hire US citizens. Add that to all the other benefits refugee status grants them and it makes me angry. It’s bad enough that our borders are wide open-allowing those who wish to destroy us refugee status is like paying an invading army.
