The Druckers were not alone. On election day in 2004, a record-setting 179,000 people visited Canada’s official immigration website, the majority of them Americans. And as anxieties about the outcome of 2016 begin to grow, some Americans are again musing about fleeing to their northern neighbor.

Interestingly, following the end of the Revolutionary War in 1783, a large number of well-off conservative Tories were deported to Canada. This radically changed the makeup of the political class, and tilted the country to what was then the left, but would now be considered the right.
There has been a lot of talk that if we crack down on immigration laws, illegal aliens will sef-deport. Let’s come up with some laws that encourage liberals to vote with their feet, too. Or start enforcing laws they already dislike, like eliminating federal funds for sanctuary cities.
