Science doesn’t say anything. Headline writers say things. An individual researcher may say something. “Science says” is a good example of the fallacious argument from authority.

Actually, none of them “say” anything. You have to be able to vocalize something in order to “say” anything.

Scientists may say something.

Editors, even Headline Editors, write things. Unless you are speaking with them directly.
