Just checking in to see whose been watching Billions on Showtime?
I fell for Damien Lewis in “Band of Brothers”
He’s terrific-——and seems to be a much sought after actor.
.
I was shocked when I found out he was a Brit.
Don’t know how I missed that.
He has a bit of a brough and does American well
“Been a fan of Damien Lewis since homeland”
Me, too. It’s hard not to root for him in Billions, even though government is always the Good Guy in shows about big business. And his wife is amoral, ruthless, and gorgeous. What’s not to like?
I love the show, although I feel like I have missed episodes as it has so many characters to keep up with, I forget who is who. It helps to turn on closed captions, too, as it’s not easy to understand them at times, and helps to figure out what’s going on.
Hope it has a long run. A similar show I like is “Suits.”
Plus The Good Wife, which is hard to keep up with because during the football season you never knew what time it would come on, and my DVR would only record pieces until I got frustrated and stopped watching.
I need to do some binging on those two. After this week I finally have all the attorneys at justice sorted out. I lie the way he marched with his back up to the little league game
“I was shocked when I found out he was a Brit. “
Me too. I felt the same way about Domenick West and Idris Elba from “The Wire”.
Astonishing acting to be able to completely change an accent.
.
So much of this genre has been done to death, it’s hard to be original. But damned if I have ever seen anything like the dog poop bit. Just wow.
Tara (her Sons of Anarchy role) is definitely hot. Forgot about the golden showers. Giamatti nailed it at the Little League game, the dog walker and the SEC attorney and his toilette water..
All side play very hardball and everyone is morally ambiguous
Then why the F did you bother to post on this thread!!!!
People on this forum get weirder and weirder every year.
I'll watch the latest episode tonight, though I did catch a scene or two last week, i.e. the dog poop scene.
It's unimaginable to me there aren't dog poop bag dispensers in that area. In my 'burb, there are dispensers set out about every half mile along our canals. It must be artistic license.
One other thing: is it a "New York value" that f-bombs are routinely uttered in business and casual conversation? Don't get me wrong, I can let them fly, but I do my best to limit them, certainly among women and kids.
” I can let them fly, but I do my best to limit them, certainly among women and kids. “
I hear you. When my wife and I emigrated to Canada in 1971, it was unacceptable to curse around women and kids. When we moved back to the states in 1978, it was a cultural shock to hear pretty young girls drop the F bomb casually in mixed company without giving it a thought. Something happened in the US in the mid-seventies where filthy language became the norm. Maybe the tatts and piercings made white trash behavior acceptable.
Awesome.
Total A-holes...all
Loved the part where Axe’s wife was ruminating about payback and the other woman asked if she was threatening her.
“...cking right I am...” as she grinned ear to ear...
Both are fun...
And how she just happened to have that non-disclosure form on the table by the front door!
Hanging in there with the show thus far, but I thought it was a little weak when the Feds were thinking about going after Axe based on him purchasing the house on the beach. What? I mean, rich people buy expensive things. So what? So, it annoys the OWS crowd. Eh... Seemed like they should’ve had something more solid or actionable to go after him.
The post asked “checking in to see whose (sic) been watching Billions”.
I answered.
Explains the Trump phenomenon...
Off, OFF Damned Sarcasm!!!
Axe has the reputation of being more conservative in spending so not to scare off his investors and endears himself to the little guy. The feds looked at it a him giving the finger to the rest of the world which knocked him down a few points in the public eye and used that as an opening to look into his dealings.
