Perhaps the most significant general election news from last night in Iowa that's not being reported:
According to ABC News, more than 180,000 Republican Iowans voted in the first 2016 caucus, compared to the previous record of only 121,000 people in 2012.
Early Tuesday morning, the Iowa Democratic Party announced that 171,109 Iowans participated in its caucuses. That's a fall from 2008, which saw 239,000 Iowans vote in the Democratic caucuses throughout the state.
interesting data, thanks for posting.
I take this with a grain of salt. I remember in 2012, when we were being told that Obama’s get-togethers were only half full, to lull us into a false sense of security. I had a friend who desperately wanted to attend an Obama Rally, in a relatively large city, and there were no more tickets available. They were only filling the halls half full, so as to look like he had no support. Beware of Greeks bearing gifts (saying the Dems aren’t showing up in high numbers).
Even when one can demonstrate using real results, that the RCP was off by 8%, you're still not going to call the polls inaccurate?
