I do not know how the Dem caucus works. On its face, it looks very curious that they only had 1500 or fewer total votes. Maybe each vote actually represents a number increment, like 100 or something. I don’t know. Weird.
Thanks bro. Something was very weird about those totals. You helped me understand them.
I know, I was excited for a while...only 1,500?
I suggest you stop drinking, lest they become stream-of-unconsciousness postings.
See Fledermaus’s posts. He explains it. The explanation satisfies me.
I am not drinking, but why would you support a socialist for GOP nominee?
Oooo. Bad news. Get to a hospital immediately.
Ah. Thanks. BTW, those were great graphics on the opus thread. Very funny!
+1
Rubio endorsed by the Des Moines Register. Rubio endorsed by the Republican Establishment.
Those are delegation votes, not individual voters, I believe. Hillary has 60,700 actual votes, Bernie has about 60,000 actual votes, and O’Malley got about 600
At least I wouldn’t get single payer healthcare at the hospital.
Ah, but you would get psychiatric meds, which you are in so dear need of.
>> Just seems odd that an avowed pro-invasion Establishment candidate would do so well in Iowa. <<
Trump barely escaped third place! Oh, you mean Rubio. I don’t trust Rubio farther than I could throw him... and Chris Christie and Hillary Cankleton. But in all honesty, Trump is the one saying we don’t have enough immigration. Last I saw him, Rubio was still trying to insist he didn’t mean to create an invasion.
That here - http://www.bustle.com/articles/139098-how-many-people-voted-in-the-iowa-caucus-2016-saw-a-record-turnout - says the turnout was 171,109 for Democrat and over 180,000 for Republican caucus.
>> There are what 15 Blacks 25 Hispanics in the entire State? <<
No, there is a large population of Hispanics, both legal and illegal, who man the beef-packing industry. Have you ever heard of Iowa Beef Company?
>> It is also a State that would have little interest in manufacturing jobs, tariff wars or HB-1 Visas <<
No manufacturing in Iowa? Have you ever heard of Whirlpool? Amana appliances? All in all, manufacturing jobs account for about 14% of Iowa’s employment.
And no interest in tariffs? Iowa farmers don’t just depend on ethanol. They have huge export markets for their grain, beef, etc. Trump’s brand of protectionism would clearly hurt them in those markets, due to international trade rules and the dangers of retaliation.
Ditto for Iowa manufacturers. They also have important export markets that could be cut off if a reckless, Trump-like set of protectionist measures should be adopted.
>> Rubio is a very talented politician. He did pretty good throughout the debates <<
I guess Rubio was lucky that Trump boycotted the last debate. It gave Rubio a chance to show off a lot more of his rhetorical talent than would have been the case had Trump been on stage. And I don’t Trump will make that mistake again!
