I believe the Iowa Derm total is the number of delegates awarded to the next level up county conventions. Dems usually have twice as many caucus attendees as Repubs. Dems will publish their body count later.
Despite our views on immigration here, Rubio is a very talented politician. He did pretty good throughout the debates. I think many people got turned off from Trump and Cruz (for different reasons) and looked for the next best option. Frankly, in this field, Rubio probably is the next best option in the big picture. If not him, who would be a third choice? Rand has been non-existent and a little tough to like. Who else? Christie? Kasich? Bush?
Looks like the establishment was buying votes to stop Trump!
New Hampshire in 8 days. Ecstasy for Cruzers in the meantime. ;-)
Why would Trump supporters show for Rubio? A Rubio rise is a terrible development for Trump. He needed a mono-a-mono with Cruz, leaving the rest of the field to stay in to see if they are the one to be the party alternative. Now, Rubio will likely gather steam and be tough to beat later when the rest of the field winnows. Trump could beat Cruz one-on-one, but I am not so sure Rubio. Florida will be pivotal and Rubio could rise quickly here
Cruz won and FOX News acting like Rubio won. LOL
Iowa fluke, Laz. Wierd primary system. Like the backmarker getting a podium at the Australian Grand Prix. Let’s see where we are after S. C.
It certainly couldn’t be that Democrats were registering R to vote for the Republican chaos candidate Trump. Couldn’t be that.
When was the last time the media got excited over 3rd place in Iowa?
The votes are still coming in at 99%...
Cruz 46,407 28%
Trump 40,776 24%
Rubio 38,386 23%
3.4% black and 5.6% Hispanic.
The last three polls averaged together predicted Rubio would get 19%. He got 23%. The last three polls averaged together predicted Cruz would get 23%. He got 28%. Not seeing why your attention is on Rubio.
Just seems odd that an avowed pro-invasion Establishment candidate would do so well in Iowa.
Its all about electability. Hang with Cruz or Trump and say hello to Hillary or even Bernie. I am sorry, but we are dealing with a low-info majority who unfortunately does make voting decisions based on looks and charisma. He may be the 2016 Obama, but he is also our Obama.
So, what happens if there's a brokered/open convention and either Cruz or Trump has to decide who to give their delegates to? Do they give them to Rubio? Or do they do the right thing and give them to the other one?
Food for thought. If either Cruz or Trump gave their delegates/support to Rubio..., bad, bad, bad news.
Carson also did way better than I would expect. He’s not exactly on fire nationally.
I’m sure this has already made the rounds, but just in case...
Miserable performance on the Joyful Turtle's part.
The rats are about to kiss 10,000 total votes..
either they suck so bad no one cared.. or...
Reverse operation chaos was in effect.
Looks like Rubio did suspiciously great in the larger, I’m guessing, urban areas.
