Most Beautiful SAG Dress
2/1/16 | Originalbuckeye

Of absolutely no importance, but I wanted to say that the dress that I thought was the classiest, most beautiful at the SAG Awards, was Viola Davis' dress. Would love to see more glamour in what used to be a very glamorous industry.

Totally agree it was inappropriate, especially for the Memorium segment.
But at least she didn’t weep with passion for Bernie Sanders . . as she has been wont to do.

I do watch that show Fashion Police from time to time when they’re showing and interviewing guests on the red carpet.

She did look nice.

Perhaps I’m old fashioned, but I remember watching the award shows when I was very young and I don’t think any of the so-called current stars (quite frankly I don’t know who most of them are) can hold a candle to Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Lauren Bacall, etc. for style, grace, elegance and acting. From the men’s side, there’s Cary Grant and others (never saw them in an awards show but always liked Bogie and Bergman).

Just my $.02

A bunch of pretentious people thinking they are important, parading for a bunch of Hollywood writers who think they are important, getting awards from other pretentious people.

No Thanks. Don’t care how they dress, even if they paraded naked down the red carpet.

Very lovely. The color was a great complement to her skin tone. Violet for Viola. How about that!

My choice too. Her dress was lovely. She really is a fine actress (The Help) and she reminds me of a dear friend/co-worker that we lost to cancer a few years ago.
The only other one I liked and a tough call, was Helen Mirren, always classy and elegant. The rest looked awful. Susan Sarandon, in particular, is a nitwit.

Like you I only care about the dresses. Have to say the hideous outnumbered the pretty dresses about 20 to 1. I liked a pink gown and a white gown by Christian Soriano and I liked the red head from that 70’s show but none of them were fabulous.

I only tune into these shows (when I do) for the dresses and hair and shoes and jewelry, etc. I couldn’t care less about who wins what.

I agree with you about her dress. It was beautiful. I LOVE that color. Only persons with darker skin looks good in that color. Melanin challenged persons, like myself, look awful in that color. It makes them look cadaver-ish. So I’m glad to see someone who can wear that beautiful color carry it off. The structure of the dress was also nice.

Hideous, and some downright appalling. In the DailyMail story there is a picture of Lori Petty.......why would anyone go out dressed like that??

Helen Mirren always looks great no matter what ... but this dress is lovely. She has so much more class than Sarandon who is about her same age.

Yes, miss the old, classy stars. I think that’s why I liked Davis’ dress. Beautiful lines, color, neckline. And being totally politically incorrect (but that’s me all the time) , I really look forward to the time when ‘gender-bender’ dressing becomes passe.

YIKES!
The vast majority of those dresses where ghastly.

Of the few that were decent they would have looked better on different people.

Thanks for sharing
