I don’t know. Maybe she found out about it later. Unfortunately, most school children have to be online in order to do their schoolwork. There’s no doing homework on paper and taking it to school. They are often required to participate in group discussions online. (I know this from my friends’ experience; my own children start institutional education at community college.)

It can be extremely hard to keep them from going online, even if you’re trying. On one occasion when my 15-year-old was not being allowed to use the internet at home, she went to her church choir practice and talked another teenager into handing over her cell phone, “It’s an emergency!”
