Noticed it myself. "Blows Against The Empire," hmm?

Well, that's where my FR screen name came from. "It's a fresh wind that blows against the empire."

What an amazingly terrible 2/3 weeks for us older musicians. But Keith keeps kicking!

Dead at 74. Dang, I'm feeling old. I watched him and the Jefferson Airplane playing at the Golden Gate panhandle just off Haight/Ashbury in the mid-1960s. Lots of free concerts there at the time by various bands that went big later, they did it for the music, not money. Almost a half decade has passed, yikes.

Just look at all the important musicians who have passed in the last three week, from David Bowie to Natalie Cole, Lemmie, and on and on. Really quite stunning!!

The second record album I ever bought was Surrealistic Pillow and it was mono. Great band, saw them live in ‘67 at the ripe old age of 15.

Was a big fan of the Airplane and the early Starship stuff.

He won a Hugo Award for Blows Against the Empire only Recording so honored AFAIK

A couple that seem appropriate today

Your Mind has left Your Body: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWucwTZ2oIc

Jerry Garcia on the Pedal Steel BTW. The Grateful Dead used this MLB theme quite a bit over the years. Here is my favorite from 11-11-73 Very joyful piece of music.

And of course Blows Against the Empire:

You don’t often see really old rockers.

Shhh, you'll make Kieth Richards nervous!

Oh BS, neither of my parents were “hard partying”, and both didn’t see 70 years old.

Agreed. Just because of genetics, I won’t see 70 either.

Now, there is a man with a voice.

Read that his voice was so strong that they sometimes had to have him face away from the mic when recording to be able to equalize!
