On this at least. Although I don’t live in an area with coyotes, we have had marauding dogs. Because of allergies, I used to keep my cats outside in our acre yard where they could run around. Sometimes one of those wild dogs would kill one of our pets or they’d get struck by a car.

Eventually, we finally brought in our last two cats when they were nearly killed by stray dogs. I still harbor enormous guilt for our dead cats that could’ve had a nice long and comfy life indoors. I hate the flip attitude some have here about cats as if they’re disposable pets. Far from it.

We used to do the indoor/outdoor thing. Had one hit by a car. Then one disappeared for a while and came back. It was $200 Jack that made us change, he had a habit of getting injuries that we got tired of paying for, so we switched them to indoors. Now he’s like 17 years old, no way he’d have made that going outside.
