BRAVO and you deserve that for stepping into this lion’s den. The males in my family all cussed, father and uncles but the women went to their graves without ever using cuss words. Have to say the males were circumspect about just what words they could use around the women and children in the house tho’. In the barn, it was something else, I’m sure!
My parents were great movie goers and we went to tons of movies in my childhood but never with any that used this language and I don’t believe any were made that had actors using it. Did early TV? No! Never heard it in schools (1940’s to 1950’s) from teachers or students - inside school or out!
I don’t know when it became acceptable for people to speak with potty mouths in front of everyone but it has always offended me. I lived from the late 30’s to the early ‘80’s without hearing this kind of language in public and always objected. Was I sheltered? No, I always worked and never heard it in the work place either. After the 80’s, for some reason people seemed to enjoy having limited vocabulary for proper language. Sets them apart? Gets them attention? I don’t think the last is true as they use it without even realizing it.
I am very sad to see what my grandchildren will have to live through, they don't speak this way either. This talk is not normal in any fashion except perhaps Saturday Night live crowd.
Perhaps they would applaud the Pope or Billy Graham if they too would utter such words, gee he's just like us/s Thanks again
