In Frankfurt, Indiana, illegals are employed. As a sheriff told me there: “unless your name is Jose, do not bother apply for a job at the small factories there.”

You hire one guy legally, who brings along his “crew.” You pay the supervisor and he takes care of paying all the other workers in cash.

First, you can buy a fake ID at any large flea market that includes a DL, Birth Certificate and SS Card for about $150. All you need is a passport photo and a day wait. Oh, and speak fluent Spanish. Change ID every two years or so because claiming married and 9 dependents will catch up with you in time.

Second, go to any SS Office and you will find you can get a SS with no, zero ID. Once you have the SS card, you use that to get a State ID, then a DL.

There are agents that guide illegals through this for a fee, sometimes for a percentage of their income.

On smaller residential and commercial jobs they set up "subcontract" companies that regularly go out of business and change names. Other businesses do mainly cash labor for "contract" employment.
