For example, is this part of Trump making America great again:
Speaking with Larry King Live in 1999, Trump said he was "quite liberalâ when it came to health care. âI said Iâm conservative, generally speaking, Iâm conservative, and even very conservative,â Trump told King in response to a question about a âpatientsâ bill of rights. âBut Iâm quite liberal and getting much more liberal on health care and other things. I really say: Whatâs the purpose of a country if youâre not going to have defensive and health care?ââ âIf you canât take care of your sick in the country, forget it, itâs all over. I mean, itâs no good. So Iâm very liberal when it comes to health care,â he said. âI believe in universal health care. I believe in whatever it takes to make people well and better.â
Or when he said:
He (Trump) wrote in his 2000 book that, âWe need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing.â
Or when he said this in the debates:
âWhat I would like to see is a private system, without the artificial lines around every state. I have a big company with thousands and thousands of employees, and if Iâm negotiating in New York, or New Jersey or in California, I have like one bidder. Nobody can bid, you know why? Because the insurance companies are making a fortune because they have control of the politicians. Of course with the exception of the politicians on the stage. But they have total control of the politicians. They are making a fortune.â
Since he said all three, one would hope he sticks with the latest, but I am sure people in 1999 who liked what he said then thought he would stay with that version, too.
Nothing more recent than 15 years ago? Listen to what he is saying now.
