Glenn Frey, the voice and mind behind some of the biggest hits by the Eagles, has died after a battle with multiple health problems. The songs he wrote and performed with the Eagles became some of the most enduring music of the '70s.

“Peaceful, Easy Feeling” was his best, followed up closely at 2nd is “Lyin’ Eyes”.
“New Kid In Town” at #1, no argument there. RIP Mr. Frey.
I picked the same one the site came to for #1 - “New Kid in Town”. It’s not his or the Eagles best song but I do think it was his best vocal performance. I also really liked “Are you gonna stay (with the one who loves you)” from the “No Fun Aloud” album (a very, very underrated album)
Like many celebrities, he began to believe his own hype. That’s what hurt the band.
Good tunes!
And I thought his best performance was when he and Don Felder were so coked up on stage that they almost got into a brawl insulting each other on mike.
FWIW, the breakup did not destroy the Eagles, it made them better. Their HELL FREEZES OVER tour is a top ten classic tour and album.

The Eagles Farewell 1 Tour (LIVE): 2hrs, 45min

Farewell 1 Tour - Live from Melbourne is a double DVD by Eagles, released in 2005. It was filmed in Melbourne, Australia at the Rod Laver Arena on the 14, 15 and 17 of November 2004, in the same name tour, featuring two new songs. It is the second record featuring the Eagles as quartet (without Don Felder) but it did feature a horn section.
The name 'Farewell Tour' has nothing to do with the band's plan to quit touring, and this is confirmed by Glenn Frey's quote in the interview contained in the DVD: "The longer this goes on, the better these songs sound. There is a 'sort of' honesty in calling the tour Farewell 1, with its implication that Farewell 2 will follow soon."

I vote for their very first single released. “Take It Easy” . Great song great band.
So I guess that when it comes to arguments among the band members, Frey can finally really say he’s “Gotten Over It”?
When Scmidt was in Poco they were great. Not enough material though. No good writers.
Thanks
The mere thought of Poco brings back great memories. I saw them live when they opened for Little River Band. “In the Heart of the Night” is one of my favorite songs.
I was in Vegas about 15 years ago and went with a buddy to the Mandalay Sports book on Sunday morning to get a table and spend the day watching NFL football on their 4 movie theater sized screens. About 10 minutes before game time I notice a guy walk in looking for a table (all the tables had been taken for at least an hour). As he walked by I noticed it was Glen Frey and I told him he could sit with my buddy and I if he wanted. He sat down and the three of us drank beer and watched football all day long. He was a big fan and knew his football but couldn't bet worth a darn. I think he lost ever single game bet he made. But he was a real regular guy and we all had a blast.
The beach there had piped in music at the lifeguard stand. He was a BIG Poco, Eagles, LRB, Atlatnta Rythm Section, and Sanford Townsend Band devotee. I'd love to see those years all over again.
Nice. You know, there are several FReepers that have been around and had some awesome encounters.
