So, Who did you Trump supporters support before Trump joined the race?

I liked Cruz on issues the best, but thought Walker might be a better candidate (oh well, can’t pick ‘em all). But I’ve pretty much been for Trump since he announced. The right man at the right time.

(Assuming that the question isnt just some snarky troll)

I supported Cruz as far back as December 2014.

Saw that Trump was making the big moves, taking the big risks, and taking down the GOPe candidates after brushing him off on day 1, while Cruz was staying off to the side.

So I rewarded risk and effort by shifting support. Didn’t do it as a negative for Cruz because I hoped he would be the VP.

Cruz

I decided to support Trump or Cruz

If Rubio wasn’t Gang of Eight I’d likely support him too

I could live with Santorum but he has no chance

After that maybe I could have gone Walker

I like Trump for his fight and it busts up the old guard

Cruz will work too

I do think Trump scares the crap out of the Democrats

He’s got precisely the big tent draw the GOPe always said they wanted

Careful what you ask for I guess

I was staying home again. There all Democrat's. Then some crazy Bastard whom I had only know by name got into the race. Running in the vacuum that is the Republican ticket. OK. Fine. Starts speaking of American Greatness, a Yuge Wall, Muslim head choppers, fair trade, destroying our enemies, fears no one, and knows how to win!! Great family, etc....
Go Trump.

Just kidding! I’m still a Cruz supporter.

Cruz, because he was talking a good game on the Constitution and national sovereignty/immigration and the second amendment and other constitutional issues. They he voted for the Corker bill and the TPP, and never offered a straight answer why.

Also, with all deference to Professor Levin, I side with those who say that a guy born in Canada to only one American parent is not a natural born citizen and I don't want to set the precedent of electing said person to the office. For an example, a warning of what could happen once that precedent is set, look no further than what we have now.

Any old Abdul or Vladimir who meets that precedent could be POTUS in the future if we elect Cruz now. Think the Democrats and the media won't prop them up?

After Cruz, Carson was getting a look but was never in first place. He jumped the shark with the "I did so once try to murder my mom!" stuff. Or was it his best friend? Whatever.

Dondi never got a look from me, although I know some Club for Growth types who like him...

None of the rest of them were ever in consideration, although iCarly is kind of amusing with her stage presence. She can stand there and use the word "should" with the best of them.

G-d uses flawed people to do what he wants, and Trump qualifies there, doesn't he? Screw those Republicans, maybe not every one of them but the vast majority, they're on board the cheap labor / more Democrats express, they said to each other back in 2008, "Hey, we can work with this guy."

Before I see the country turned over to the jebster or anyone like him to complete the destruction, I'll just walk away from the ballot box.

The non-violent alternative is to vote for a guy who just might mess up the status quo all around. About that time I noticed that Trump was getting some traction...

I finally read "Yertle the Turtle" to my son last night. I hadn't realized Yertle was such a nasty selfish leader; no surprise Mack deliberately burped and put Yertle in his place.

Cruz. I have supported him since he came on the scene.

When Trump declared, I was alarmed. I didn't know much about him, I don't watch TV. I
assumed he was blocking for Clinton. But then I found Conservative Treehouse and
Sundance, whose narrative persuaded me that Trump was the true outsider, and a
genuinely serious candidate. I began watching his rallies, and I now support him as the
man of this moment, the one with the courage and independence to actually stop, at least
for the moment, our Republic's slide into final, catastrophic globalism.

I had given up. I was suicidal. The last straw for me was seeing the White House lit up in rainbow colors. I was sad and dejected. I saw no hope. I foresaw my “ilk” being hunted down and beheaded. I felt like I was stuck between Pharaoh’s advancing army and the Red Sea. I had no faith whatsoever in any “politician”. There was a county clerk being held for not signing a marriage license of a particular sort. I remember something too about wedding cakes and FEMA camps. And then, the seas began to part.....and I began to see a dry passageway. And far down that dry channel was a man holding back the angry waters. He looked a lot like me, or Joe the Plumber,........at least, he was not a politician! And he had tons and tons of money that he had earned the old fashioned way! In the hour of my deapest troubles had appeared “someone” I could give all of my trust. In him I recognized a fellow American, just as I was running from someone whom I did not in any way, shape or form recognize as a fellow American........

No one. We were waiting to see who the Constitution Party came up with & if not a third party candidate we could vote for, just not vote for prez. Downticket, ANY non incumbent will do. That stands.

Rubio and Jindal were born in the USA

Cruz was born in Canada to a non American father

That is the sticking point per the Constitution on POTUS qualifications and the 1790 act on natural born citizenry

Ted and his supporters are purposely being obtuse lumping all these folks together to detract from Ted

Rubio and Jindal are natural born via geography

Teds case needs to be settled legally and if he gets the nomination it will

Ted is basically what Obama would have been had he actually been born in Kenya and not Hawaii

US mom and foreign dad born on foreign soil

Later naturalization acts amended the 1790 act but as it stands the Constitutional wording is static and the 1790 act is the only time EVER to use the term natural born citizen

It’s a legal test no question if viewed purely empirically

I was in for Rubio till he decided to join the Shumer gang and showed his true colors. Then Walker or Cruz. Then along came Trump with his unchanged message, it has been the same since before 1990: trade is a mess for us, deficit is going to kill us. He added illegal immigration and opposition to gun control to that mix has been unwavering and spoke for me. The whole time since I got off the Rubio train I have had Cruz slotted as VP as an outsider will need to have someone who knows how the congress works. Lastly I love to see Cruz up there as President of the Senate lording over ole turkey neck. If not him as he could get the AG slot, then Sessions would suit me fine. I do not want a RINO or GOPe in as VP ever.

Prior to Trump’s entrance the current Trumpeters had no one they could support because either the candidates were able to make government work (just not to the Trumpeter’s liking), or the GOPe guys were not sufficiently liberal enough ... as it turns out, Cruz supporters seem ration in discussion, while the Trumpeters are irrational, volatile, and given to personal attacks like Alinskites ... for some strange reason known in secret only to them.

They weren’t staying home, but in some secret training camps for operatives for totalitarianism, whom, upon graduation, came to FR to begin their practice. It a theory anyway ...

They are all lying. Just depends on which one I think is lying the smallest lie(s) when it is time to have the caucus. Before Trump no one. To early.
