Trump: Ted Cruz is a nasty guy and I might sue over his eligibility
Hot Air ^ | 1-18-2016 | ALLAHPUNDIT

The day before last week's debate, Trump told us it was Democrats we needed to worry about when it came to Cruz's eligibility. Why, he had only raised the issue because he feared that his good friend Ted would have a cloud over him as nominee if he didn't seek a declaratory judgment about his "natural-born" status. That's just the kind of thoughtful pal he is. Three days later, after the punch-up at the debate, a New York Times reporter asked him whether he might sue Cruz himself. Response: "I'll think about it. It's not something that I would want to do. It's certainly something I would have standing to do." Twenty-four hours later, after Cruz spent a day on the trail in South Carolina savaging Trump as a fake conservative, Trump had moved a bit further. Here'd what he told Stephanopoulos yesterday on "This Week":

Stephanopoulos told Trump that some legal scholars have suggested Trump himself would have standing to sue Cruz.

"Oh, that's an interesting case. Wow, that sounds like a very good case. I'd do the public a big favor," Trump responded, but he would not say whether he'd actually file such a suit. "It's a good idea - maybe I'll talk to them about it. I'd like to talk to Ted about it, see how he'd feel about it. 'Cause you know, when I file suits, I file real suits."

The Donald. No single individual has had more positive influence on the political, governmental, national and international scene in recent months.

But let’s keep our perspective. All candidates talk the talk. Only one presidential candidate has actually walked into the lion’s den and faced the lions, democrat, republican, progressive and RINO. That’s Cruz, assaulting Schumer, Reid, McCain, McConnell, Boehner, Graham and other enemies of true conservatism on the senate floor.

Only one has walked the walk, to save this country from liberal and progressive values, New York or not.

I’m sick of good freepers behaving like shiites and sunnis, ripping each other apart in the interest of polishing their own halos and getting a little notoriety in print.

Remember the 11th commandment.

Too late for a lot of us. If Trump is the nominee I'm gonna sit out this election unless a real conservative runs third party.

Same here.

Get after it, Donald. I love a good SCOTUS argument. I’d pay money to see Ted Cruz argue his own defense in front of the justices. But I am sick and twisted like that.

(I think SCOTUS rules he’s eligible.)

There is no way I would ever vote for a flaming leftist like Trump. But I won’t sit it out, I’ll write in Cruz.

If somebody doesn’t bring up this case Hillary’s campaign will. Probably in October. Surprise.

They are his children, a part of him. If you want to discuss political issues, fine, but this isn’t one.

Trump calls Ted a "nasty" guy, says "nobody likes him."

So much for naming him as your VP, eh, Dad? Er ... Donald, who's old enough to be Cruz's Dad.

For what it's worth, my hard-numbers count of FReeper voices indicates that more people who post here "like him" than like Trump. In hard numbers.

Donald's obviously offending a large number of conservatives.

Just wow.

My tagline is true.

That is a hoot!! Well done — I come from Scots lineage myself and recognize right coloring and type of hair — that is how he’d have looked say, 25 years ago, when he was the same age that Steady Ted is now. Ol’ Dad sure has the Scots eyebrows!

I liked Trump until he began to go after Ted. I know it was inevitable but I was hoping that maybe they had cooked up a deal that each would support the other in case the other got the nod.

It was not meant to be. I am finding that Trump is a distasteful guy. He verbally ridicules the way people look and speak.

He is the grand pooba of making them deals. So then why couldn't he volunteer to be the economic head of someone else's cabinet?

But that aint gonna work because he'd be continually in the president's face telling him how much of a loser he is.

The only reason Trump wants the presidential gig is that it is one more thing he can notch out as having accomplished.

The Presidency is a role that requires secrecy and dispatch, something Trump doesn't have time for.

Cruz is forcing his kids on the public. The daughter @ the late debate was contrived and obvious.
